Welcome to your mindful reset.
Self-compassion on difficult days.
Some days ask more of us than others,
And today might be one of those days.
If today felt heavier,
If things didn't go as planned,
Or if something within you feels tender,
Just take a moment to acknowledge that.
You don't need to push it away.
You don't need to fix it right now.
Honor how you are feeling,
Which allows those heavier emotions to move through you,
Rather than landing and lodging in the body.
Gently find a comfortable position,
And softly close your eyes.
Take a slow,
Mindful breath in through the nose,
And exhale gently from the mouth.
Let your body begin to soften,
Gently bring your attention inward,
And start noticing what is present,
Without labelling what you observe as good or bad,
Just feeling into your experience.
Whatever is there,
Whether it's sadness,
Frustration,
Fatigue,
Doubt,
See if you can meet it with softness.
Instead of judgement,
Offer yourself understanding.
You might imagine placing a hand on your heart,
Or somewhere in your body that feels comforting,
And silently saying to yourself,
This is a hard moment,
I am allowed to feel this,
And this too shall pass.
Let those words land.
Often,
When things feel difficult,
We become harder on ourselves,
We criticize,
We push,
We expect more,
But what if,
In this moment,
You chose something different?
What if you met yourself the way you would meet someone you love,
With kindness,
With patience,
With care?
Take a slow breath in through the nose,
And as you exhale,
Imagine something softening in just a little more.
Softly repeat with me,
I am doing the best I can,
I don't have to have it figured out,
I can be kind to myself in this moment.
Let these words gently replace the inner pressure.
Now,
Imagine a soft,
Warm light surrounding you,
Holding you,
Creating a space where you don't have to perform or prove anything,
Just being here exactly as you are.
Breathing in,
And breathing out.
If your mind wanders,
Or judgment arises,
Simply notice,
And gently return to this space of kindness,
Nothing to force,
Just allowing.
Take one more mindful breath in,
And release with a slow,
Grounding exhale.
Begin to land in your body again,
Feeling the support beneath you,
The space around you.
And remember,
You can come back to this place anytime,
This place of softness,
Of compassion,
Of being on your own side.
And when you're ready,
Gently bring movement back in,
And slowly open your eyes.
