You may have woken up in the middle of the night.
Noticing how quickly the mind becomes active again.
Maybe it starts reaching into tomorrow.
Or replaying small fragments of today.
In this moment,
There's nothing you need to solve.
Nothing you need to figure out.
This is simply a moment to return to rest.
You don't need to force sleep.
You're just allowing the conditions for it to return.
Begin by noticing the surface beneath you.
Let your body be fully supported.
You don't need to hold yourself up in any way.
You can soften the weight of your body a little more with each exhale.
If he feels comfortable,
Allow your jaw to unclench.
Let your shoulders drop slightly.
Let your hands become heavy.
There's nothing you need to do in this moment.
Simply resting is enough.
Take a slow breath in.
And a long gentle breath out.
And again.
A soft breath in.
And an even longer exhale.
If thoughts are present,
You don't need to push them away.
You don't need to follow them either.
Just notice.
Hmm,
Thinking is happening.
And then gently return to your breath.
Deep breath in.
And deep breath out.
You don't need to complete any thought tonight.
You don't need to resolve anything in this moment.
Each time the mind wanders,
You can gently come back.
Without any effort.
Just with awareness.
Deep breath in.
And long breath out.
Imagine each exhale is like the mind settling a little deeper.
Like ripples in water.
Slowly becoming still again.
You're not trying to stop the water.
You're simply letting it settle on its own.
Deep breath in.
And long breath out.
When thoughts arise,
That's okay.
Simply return back to the breath.
No frustration.
No urgency.
Just a beautiful nourishing.
And mindful breath.
Now begin to feel the body becoming heavier.
As if gravity is gently increasing its hold in the most supportive way.
You are allowed to let go even more now.
There's nowhere you need to be.
Nothing you need to prepare for at this moment.
Only this quiet moment of rest.
Breathing becomes simpler now.
Less effort.
West direction.
Just a beautiful,
Natural rhythm.
Deep breath in.
And a long exhale out.
You might notice sleep beginning to approach in waves.
It's nothing you need to chase.
It's just something that finds you when you stop reaching for it.
And now.
There's no need to follow my words closely anymore.
We can simply rest here.
Letting the breath continue on its own.
Letting the body sink further into rest.
If sleep comes,
You will feel drifting naturally.
If it hasn't come yet.
You are simply still resting.
There's nothing more to do.
Other than simply being in this moment.
Other than savoring your beautiful,
Mindful breath.
