This Be Well Again guided meditation uses metaphor to help you create and achieve healing in your emotional,

Cognitive,

And physical domains.

It's remarkable how powerful metaphor can be when we allow it into our unconscious awareness,

Offering simple imagery and direct suggestion.

This guided meditation will help you reset these domains and experience optimal performance of your body's systems.

You can expect to feel better in ways that you might not anticipate.

And isn't it nice to have that to look forward to?

Let's begin by getting very comfortable and expecting a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

If your attention drifts away,

A part of you will still be understanding the words I say as you listen to the sound of my voice.

Because as you listen to my voice now,

And as you begin to relax,

You can notice how pleasant it is to take a full breath in,

All the way in,

And let that breath out slowly.

You might pay attention to how it feels to begin to relax.

And as you close your eyes,

It becomes easier to notice just how you feel comfort inside.

And wherever you find that sense of comfort in you,

You can let it deepen and spread,

Deeper and deeper,

More and more relaxed,

Drifting down like a feather.

And as you breathe easily and naturally now,

Just allow yourself to glide into a deepening comfort that takes you even further down,

Where nothing disturbs you,

Nothing bothers you,

Nothing gets in your way.

And I'd like you to remember,

Or imagine,

Or pretend what it's like being on an elevator,

Seeing the polished brass railings,

The dim ceiling lights,

And this elevator has only one button with the word control room beside it.

Imagine pressing that button now.

You can start feeling the sensation of descending,

Going down faster now,

Further and further,

Deeper and deeper,

As the levels flash by,

Taking you smoothly,

Quietly,

All the way down,

Further than you've ever gone before.

And when you get all the way to the bottom,

You arrive at a place so far down,

Deep down inside that when the doors open,

You might be surprised to find yourself in a noisy mechanical control room.

This is a busy place,

With many moving parts all behind glass doors.

There are lights and dials on the control panel,

And there are three glass doors along one wall.

Through each glass door,

You can see a motor with many moving parts,

Spinning and pumping.

The room is noisy with the straining sounds of machinery and the uneven beat of running motors.

Above the first glass door,

You see a sign that reads,

Emotional Mechanism,

And on the side,

Two buttons,

One green and one red.

Imagine pressing the red button now to stop this machine.

You will notice the sound shifts,

As the engine begins to slow down,

And you can see through the glass door that the entire structure begins to shimmy,

Like a washing machine with an uneven load.

The other two machines continue to run,

And when the first stops completely,

The door unseals and opens with the brief hissing sound of an airlock.

Inside,

There's a lever on the left.

When you pull it down,

It releases the tension on the belt.

You can pull it down now.

With the tension released,

You can now remove the belt that winds around half a dozen pulleys and spools.

It comes off easily,

But you notice that the belt was not engaging all the spools and spindles,

Like it slipped off at some point.

When you examine the belt,

You can see that it's thread-worn and faded.

As you imagine holding the belt in your hands,

You can see that it's stretched in places as well.

Your emotional energy has made this part care-worn and brittle in places.

There's a garbage can beside the control panel,

And you discard the old belt in it.

Alongside the glass door,

There is a shelf with an oil can.

You take the oil can and begin to lubricate all the joins and bearings and levers so that everything moves easily and smoothly.

Even when you over-lubricate this mechanism,

The oil that spills is gathered below and used elsewhere.

Nothing is wasted.

On the wall,

Resting on a hook,

Is a bright new belt.

This new belt has a rich,

Deep dark color.

It is supple,

And the threads are thick and woven tight.

You put the belt onto each of the spools,

Aligning it in the grooves so it fits perfectly.

And when the belt is securely in place,

On all the spools now,

You lift the lever back up and lock the system in place.

When you close the door,

You remember to press the green button to start,

But you're surprised because it doesn't appear to have worked at first.

Then you realize that this emotional mechanism,

The one that allows you to regulate your emotions,

To be resilient in times of stress,

And recover from upset more quickly,

Is running.

But it's so perfectly aligned that it's operating without a sound or any shimmy.

The emotional mechanism is stabilized and running at full efficiency.

You've now optimized your emotional mechanisms.

At the second glass door,

You press the red button for the cognitive mechanism.

This is also noisy,

With a straining mechanical sound and begins to bump slightly as it slows down.

This mechanism controls your clarity of thought,

Your ability to focus your attention,

And gives you clear access to your higher wisdom and passage through to the thoughts that serve you best.

When the system is off balance,

It's difficult to think clearly,

And negative or distracting thoughts have more opportunities to creep in.

Realigning this cognitive mechanism will streamline and optimize your thinking processes.

When the mechanism stops and the second glass door opens,

You can see the lever that releases the strained belt,

And you notice this belt is quite faded and worn.

There are loose threads fraying at the sides,

And here,

Too,

The belt has slipped off one of the spools.

But you know what to do.

Begin by pulling the lever down.

After removing the old,

Worn-out belt and putting it in the garbage,

You begin to oil the moving parts of the cognitive mechanism.

Every bearing,

Every lever,

And every moving part gets fully lubricated.

You can find a new belt on the wall beside the second glass door.

When you put it over the spools,

You can notice how snugly the belt fits into the grooves of the spools,

Making it impossible for the belt to come loose or slip.

When you lift the lever to tighten the belt,

There's a sense of satisfaction that everything is perfectly aligned,

Just where it's supposed to be.

With the glass door closed,

You can press the green button and watch the cognitive mechanism effortlessly engage all the parts as the belt rolls quickly but silently behind the glass door.

The final door shows a similar mechanism,

Noisier than the other two,

Chugging along behind the glass.

There's a slight squeak from one of the spools,

But as you press the red button and the mechanism slows,

You can see that the belt is nearly worn out.

In at least one place,

The belt has shifted.

As with the other mechanisms,

In the physical mechanism,

You release the lever,

Remove the belt and see the wear and tear across the seams.

After you've put the belt into the garbage,

You apply a little extra oil into all the joints and crevices,

And they now turn easily and effortlessly.

The new belt is thicker and stronger than the last.

It's flexible but strong,

And when you fit it snugly into the spools and lift the lever into place,

You can see the proper alignment and the gleaming new belt ready to capably operate.

The physical mechanism is responsible for healing and repairing aches and pains,

But it also monitors and maintains physical systems within your body.

Your breathing and immune function will especially benefit from this realignment.

Imagine now closing the final glass door,

And in the quiet and gentle whispering hum of the control room,

Press the green button so that each of the emotional,

Cognitive and physical mechanisms will all have been repaired and reset.

When everything is running again,

You can imagine taking one last look to see the three glass doors and all the features of the control room.

You can see your work here is finished,

And the room is quiet,

Purring with contentment.

All the changes you've made deep down here will show up in wonderful,

Unexpected ways.

These are welcome,

Positive changes that will open new forms of communication,

Rediscovering resources in you that can now be realized.

And there's so much more available.

And as you begin to find your way back,

You can understand that more and more positive changes will emerge,

Coming back with you and continuing to develop.

As you come back even more now,

Up and into the wide awake world of possibilities,

Coming all the way back,

Feeling better than before.

You were right. I got lost and wandered several times. Yet I always was connected and returned. I am not sure where I went. It was not sleep or awareness, but something I had never experienced. And in the end I picked back up with your voice and followed it to finish. This was a soothing, unique experience. Thank you.

I wasn't for sure I would respond well to metaphor, but I felt deeply relaxed and could easily visualize the instructions. Here's hoping for a good response from my subconscious! Thank you! Your meditations for healing and sleep are much appreciated. 🙏🥰

This visualization helped me tremendously. I woke from a nightmare with my heart pounding and my head in turmoil. Now those feelings have passed quicker than I am usually able to achieve. Thank you !
