Hi,
Welcome to Peacebeam.
Step one,
Notice.
As always,
We begin by noticing how we are today.
Just hold that question.
How do I feel today?
And if you find any tension in your body,
Your shoulders,
Your neck,
If you're frowning,
Just relax and let it go.
Step two,
Breathe.
Now bring your focus onto your breath and allow yourself to begin to tune to its rhythm,
Its constancy.
Feel the in and the out and just be here for a few moments,
Breathing.
And now just begin to picture your breath moving in and out through your heart,
The rhythm of your heart and the rhythm of your breath,
Joining each other for these next few moments and allowing you to settle.
Beautiful.
Just breathe.
Step three,
Activate.
We've had over 50 years of being told that convenience is essential.
Whether it's food or shopping,
Travel,
Dating,
Weddings and funerals,
We must have convenience in everything.
So when things don't go our way,
When something inconvenient occurs,
We find it very difficult to accept.
Not only that,
But we can feel personally aggrieved that our day or our life has been interrupted.
I recently watched somebody on an aeroplane at 35,
000 feet shouting at his phone because the wifi wasn't fast enough.
And I totally understood how he felt.
What would in any other time in human history seem like an exhibition of insanity actually seemed completely understandable.
And though this is funny,
Inconvenience really is an inevitability.
And so today,
Instead of allowing it to send us into a descending octave of negative thoughts,
Words or actions,
We are going to embrace it with gratitude.
And as the automatic flow of our day is interrupted,
We're going to use it to pause,
To breathe and to be grateful for all of the things that actually do go our way.
For all of the gifts of our modern world that make our lives so much easier.
And we are going to smile.
Step four,
Beam.
Look at that.
You are smiling at the thought of inconvenience.
That is a miracle in itself.
And you've done that in five minutes.
So now take that smile,
That energy of gratitude and acceptance,
And make it shine through your day for your benefit and the benefit of every person that you meet.
Have a beautiful day.
