The first part of this exercise will see you sitting in a comfortable position with your feet firmly on the ground,
Your back upright and your hands comfortably in front of you.
I would like you to close your eyes and relax.
Your breathing should be deep but controlled.
Ideally breathe in 1 2 3 and out 1 2 3 4.
Breathe in 1 2 3,
Breathe out 1 2 3 4.
Maintaining your deep breathing please take your consciousness to your feet.
You should feel a gentle weight the bottom of your legs and in your feet.
Move your toes slightly until you feel comfortable.
Feel the firm connection from the soles of your feet to the ground beneath.
In your own time think of a chosen method that will connect you to the earth's core.
This can be a line,
Cord,
Maybe the roots of a tree.
Imagine and visualise as they start to form at the base of your feet from your soles and push gently through the firm floor below.
You immediately recognise them as part of you.
Visualise and sense now as they push deeper and easily through the soil,
Moving easily down deeper and deeper.
They push easily past anything in their way.
You can step back a moment and visualise yourself sitting and watching it push closer to the earth's core.
Gaining momentum,
See it now as it reaches the earth's core.
A firm connection is made.
You immediately feel grounded and anchored.
Controlled and focused.
You can move your feet slightly and feel the connection with the earth's core.
Now in your own time imagine a light or an energy leaving the earth's core and pushing back up your connected method towards you.
You should recognise the light or the energy as Reiki.
The light moves closer and closer to you.
Sense as it enters your body through the feet,
Up through the legs,
Through the central chakra system to your crown chakra,
Saturating all parts of your body till it moves down your arms and settles in the palms of your hands and your fingertips.
I would like you to say quietly to yourself three times,
I am now connected to the earth's energy.
To help you protect yourself from negative energies,
I would now like you to imagine and visualise yourself in a space.
A protective space that covers you above,
Below,
To the front,
To the back,
To the left and to the right.
You are immediately comfortable and feel safe in your space.
I would like you to imagine filling the space with Reiki energy,
See it as a light or a warmth and let it surround you on all sides.
We invite anything into our space that can do us no harm but ask that it protects us from negative energy.
I would now like you to say to yourself three times,
I am now protected from anything that can have a negative effect on my well-being.
You are now grounded and protected in preparation for the meditation part of this recording.
I would ask you at this point to think again about your breathing.
It should be deep but comfortable and controlled.
I am now going to ask you to visit a place that you know is special,
Your own chosen sanctuary where only good can come from your visit.
There will be a route or a passage that you will need to take and when you arrive it would be good to have a view to the distance.
If you have been introduced to the Reiki symbols at this point I would encourage you to keep one as a focus throughout this journey.
So now prepare to take your route or your path to your own special place.
Begin your journey down the path.
Remain focused on the view in front.
Any thoughts or distractions that come to you at this point should be seen as pictures and merely pass as you leave them behind,
Remaining focused on the view in front.
As you arrive at your chosen destination you immediately feel at ease,
You immediately feel safe and you recognize this place as somewhere that you have visited before.
I will now ask you to sit down or get into a comfortable position so you can see out to the distance and the glorious view in front.
There is a wonderful gentle light and radiance and feel it as a heat against your hair,
Against your skin,
Against your clothes.
This is your special place and only good can come from you being here.
Sitting comfortably with the warmth and light against you,
With your breathing deep but controlled,
I would ask you to look out to the distance and relax.
The light that you feel so comfortable with in your special place is pure reiki energy.
It surrounds you on all sides.
Only good can come from you being here.
Sitting comfortably surrounded by reiki with your breathing controlled,
Relax and enjoy the experience.
The light that you feel so comfortable with in your special place is pure reiki energy.

I would now ask you to visualize standing and looking out to the view that you have enjoyed.
Bow gently in appreciation that you have found this place and it belongs only to you.
When you're ready,
Turn and move slowly back down the path from which you arrived.
You can feel the warmth and the radiance on your back as you leave.
You still recognize this as reiki,
Pure reiki energy and are happy that you can return at any time.
Now walk purposely down the path,
Remaining focused and content that you have enjoyed your visit.
When you're ready and only when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
Safe in the knowledge that grounded and protected,
You are able to visit your own personal special place.
