Finding peace and groundedness by reconnecting to the core of where we all stem from,
Mother Earth.
As you get yourself comfortable,
Watch your breathing for a little bit.
You don't need to control it but just be a bit more aware of how you are breathing right now and be aware of the surfaces that are supporting you,
Holding you,
That you don't need to do very much in order to be held.
And then firmly feel your feet on the floor.
If you're lying down,
I would ask you to just sit up for this exercise and feel your feet firmly on the floor.
Notice what the floor feels like.
Maybe it's carpet,
Maybe it's wood,
Maybe it's something else.
Noticing the texture,
Noticing the temperature and any sensations in your feet as they make contact with the floor.
As most of your attention right now rests in your feet but you're still aware of your breathing,
You're still aware of your whole body being here.
You are not just feet.
Your feet is where the attention is but there's a whole body here as well and you're aware of that.
Remembering that if you ever need to,
You can always look around.
You can always open your eyes and look around but you don't need to.
You can also stay here.
The most important thing is to keep an awareness of your body being here.
That's one of the foundations of grounding.
And as you can feel your feet resting here,
Imagine that there's roots coming out of your feet.
Roots going deep into the earth as if the tip of your roots almost touches the core of the earth.
And then imagine how on the in-breath you're drawing in that earth energy and on the out-breath you're releasing whatever is ready to go right now.
The quality of what you're taking in is determined by what you need right now and your inner wisdom,
Which is one with the earth's inner wisdom,
Knows exactly what you need right now.
For some people that might be a little bit more ease,
Gentleness,
Slowing down,
Trust.
For other people that might be confidence,
Power,
Surrender.
See what comes up for you and enjoy it.
Life is here to be enjoyed.
It's really okay to be you as you are.
That's what earth is communicating with me right now as I'm doing this meditation with you.
And on the out-breath,
As you're releasing,
Just remembering you're not pushing out anything.
You're not forcing any parts within you to surrender and give in and stop.
You're simply giving an opportunity for things that are ready to let go,
That are ready to pass through,
To leave your system.
But that requires no force.
These things are ready to go by themselves anyway.
And also enjoying the releasing,
The letting go,
As much as the taking in,
The nourishment.
And also remembering that you don't have to enjoy it.
If while releasing or while taking in some emotions,
Some sensations come up that are not pleasant,
Just be with them with your awareness,
Not judging them.
As they too serve a valuable function in the organism that is you,
In the organism system that is life.
That despite us being organisms,
Not everything needs to be perfectly organized.
There can be a degree of messiness to our life and our internal world.
But from another perspective,
That is perfect as well.
Just maybe slightly less controlled,
Predictable.
You can find some peace with that slightly chaotic,
Slightly colorful way that life is sometimes.
Remembering your roots,
Going deep into the earth.
Really remembering your body and your feet here,
Not getting too lost in your mind and thoughts.
Really sensing your body here.
Adjusting your posture if needed.
And checking in for any lost things that are ready to release or to be taken in through your root system.
So deeply connected with Mother Earth.
Feeling every toe on the floor,
Feeling the heels on the floor and the roots going down.
Energy coming up,
Traveling all the way up your body,
All the way to the tip of your head.
Releasing any need to do this right,
Do this perfectly.
Any need to rush or fear of this meditation ending.
We've got all the time we need.
We've got this time.
And remembering a really important thing.
Sometimes we are fearful of taking from Mother Earth because humans have already taken so much.
Just remembering that she is very much interested in helping you be balanced and restored.
She happily takes what you're ready to let go of and transmutes that into something that serves you.
Because a balanced you is in a much better position to serve the earth and the whole.
So she says bring it on.
Bring it on my child.
I'm here for you.
And with that awareness just checking in one last time.
How are those roots?
How's your body?
It's just about showing up,
Doing your best again and again and again.
So just bringing awareness back into your body where it should be already anyway.
But just slightly waking up.
Becoming a bit more aware of your surroundings.
Imagining the room that you're in.
Which you may be able to see if your eyes are open or if they're closed.
You'll see it very soon.
Releasing the roots.
Remembering they're always here.
You can always form them,
Extend them.
Tap into the earth energy when you need.
But also your feet are wonderful things as they are.
Supporting you.
Step.
By step.
Taking a deeper breath.
When you're ready,
Opening your eyes.
If they were closed.
And getting ready to go about what you're about to do next with intention and hopefully a bit more calm.
Checking in whenever you need it.
