I am resilient.
As we begin this meditation,
Perhaps you take a few moments to repeat that affirmation in your mind.
I am resilient.
Consciousness is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.
To be strong and able to withhold against adversity,
Trials,
And tribulations.
You are resilient.
Become aware of this moment.
Make any adjustments as you allow yourself to settle into a comfortable space.
Relax any areas of your body that you are holding onto any tension or discomfort.
Just allow yourself to soften within those spaces.
Become aware of the breath.
As you follow the natural oscillation and pattern of the breath moving in and out of the body,
Settle into stillness.
Breathe in a way that allows you to feel full.
Create space.
Breathe easy.
Allow yourself to find gentle rooting and grounding right in this place.
Now begin to visualize a beautiful garden.
The garden is full of blooming flowers in all different colors of yellows,
Pinks,
And blues.
There is an abundance of trees full of bright green foliage.
In the center of the garden,
There is a small natural pond where lily pads float gently along the surface.
And beneath,
There are a variety of bright colored fish and smooth pebbles.
It is a gorgeous spring day where the temperature is perfect and the sun is shining.
There's not a cloud in the sky,
But there's also a slight cool breeze that counters the warmth of the sun immediately as it glides over all of the plants,
The flowers,
The trees in the garden.
In the midst of the many plants within the garden,
There you lie,
A small but mighty sapling beginning to bud.
As you sit among the vast beauty that surrounds you,
You may feel the intimidation,
The fear,
And struggle to survive.
But you have will,
And that is what keeps you thriving.
That is what keeps you going.
That is what keeps you alive.
As the days pass during the season,
You experience the harsh weather conditions that are introduced into the garden,
But you're strong enough to withstand them.
The larger trees that surround you begin to form a shelter from the heavy rain.
They also provide shade for the moments where the sun is too extreme and the day is extremely dry.
Through each storm,
The water flows off of the larger trees and provides you with the nutrients you need to survive.
Day after day,
You grow a little more.
As you grow taller,
Your trunk begins to thicken.
You become stronger,
Blooming into an empowered full tree that expands high and wide.
As you weather each season,
You become more grateful for the growth.
You become more grateful that you were able to hold on.
For all of the rain that poured,
It provided the water that you needed to nourish your roots.
The intense warm days provided energy and light from the sun that was needed for photosynthesis to occur,
And it helps you develop your full and lush green and healthy foliage you have expanding outward onto your wide branches.
You were once a mere tiny sapling who was once intimidated in this large garden,
But now you serve as an umbrella protecting those who once protected you.
The beauty of resiliency is that you have to get through the storm to know that it was all worth it.
How can you grow stronger today?
How can you allow your experiences and life's obstacles to strengthen you,
To help you build and grow and expand?
How can you show that you're able to withstand the storms and the harsh conditions of life?
You are resilient.
Hold onto that and know that you are stronger than you think.
Become aware of this present moment.
Begin to deepen your breath.
Finding small movement within the body.
Maybe bring the hands to touch and rub the palms together as you begin to generate a bit of heat.
And then place the palms onto your eyes,
Allowing the warmth to soak in.
And when you're ready,
Gently releasing the hands from the eyes and continuing on with your day.
