Picture this,
Giving a friend or a loved one a gift.
Maybe it's for their birthday or it's for Christmas or just because.
You put so much intention and thought into getting them this special gift.
And months later,
You see them again and realize that they haven't opened the gift.
The gift is sitting there in their home,
On their shelf,
Collecting dust,
Waiting to be opened.
How would that make you feel?
So imagine now when the creator or the higher powers,
The powers that be have given you a gift,
A gift that only you possess that has been given to you,
For you and made for you to share with the world,
But you keep your gift on the shelf,
Tucked away,
Waiting to be opened and used.
And so sometimes we just need a reminder,
A reminder that our highest potential,
Our best self is here.
It's now and it is readily available to us to tap into at any moment.
And all we have to do is become aware,
Become curious,
Open our gift and unlock our potential.
And sometimes in life,
We just don't know what to do with the gift that we are given and that's okay.
I invite you to explore this gift,
Envisioning your highest self,
What would it look like?
What would it feel like if nothing stood in your way to reach your fullest potential?
Settling into our breath and settling into our bodies,
Inviting you to close your eyes if that feels right for you or keep them open to a soft gaze,
Softening the brow,
Unclenching the jaw and sinking into the shoulders.
Taking a moment to scan our bodies and notice any parts of us that are resistant to rest,
Resistant to relaxation,
Resistant to stillness,
Noticing our toes,
Noticing our feet,
Our ankles,
Left and right calf,
Noticing our knees and our thighs,
Our buttocks,
Taking a moment to notice our bellies,
Our chest,
Noticing our shoulders,
Arms,
Hands,
Fingertips,
Hands,
Fingertips,
And now noticing our necks and our face,
Noticing our breath,
Noticing its natural rhythm and the beating of our hearts and the rising and falling of our chest.
Just taking a moment now to scan our bodies inch by inch,
Nourishing ourselves with our breath and our presence.
And together taking a deep inhale in through the nose and letting it go through our mouths.
And again taking a deep inhale in through the nose and then letting it go through the mouth.
Continuing this breath continuing this breath,
Allowing ourselves to be seen,
To be heard,
To be acknowledged and honored by the way of our breath and by the way of our presence.
Breathing as if the only thing that we had to do today was just breathe.
Now notice where you are currently in this gift called life,
Noticing what it feels like to be here,
To be now,
In this present moment in our bodies,
Notice what this feels like and what you feel like.
And notice if where you are right now is where you desire to be,
Noticing without judgment or comparison.
But with full awareness and acceptance.
Now bringing into the mind's eye your highest self,
Your best self,
The you that exists beyond limitations,
Beyond fear,
Beyond the opinions of others.
Who would you be?
Where would you be?
What would you be doing?
What impact would you be making?
And who would you be surrounded by?
Now noticing the space between where you are now and where you desire to be,
Where you wish to be,
Where you want to be.
Noticing this space and not noticing how far you have to go or how far behind you are.
Simply noticing this space and not noticing how far you have to go or how far behind you are.
Simply noticing this space and what it is that you need to do and what you need to be in order to reach your full potential and purpose.
Who stands in your way?
What stands in your way?
What stands in your way?
Again,
Taking a moment now to envision you living to your full potential,
Living in purpose,
On purpose.
What does it feel like?
And what would it truly look like living with intention and living in alignment?
And maybe we give it a name.
Maybe it looks like strength,
Courage,
Resilience,
Forgiveness,
Or trust.
Finding a name for your purpose.
If you could describe it in one word,
What would it be?
And once you find the name,
I invite you to turn this into an affirmation using I am.
Once you have this affirmation,
Silently repeating it to yourself,
Using this as a reminder that our greatness is here.
It is now and it is always with us.
And now,
Just expressing gratitude for the now you,
For the future you,
And for the past you,
For all the parts of you that equal to this whole,
Giving thanks for it all,
For the things that you do for the future you,
For the things that you need to do for the future you,
For the things that you need to do for the future you,
Giving thanks for it all.
And as this practice comes to an end,
We become present back into our bodies,
Back to our breath and back into the room,
Taking a moment to invite movement back into our hands and into our toes.
And whatever feels right for you,
Slowly and gently opening your eyes.
I invite you,
If you would like to take notes,
Either on your phone or in a journal,
And just write down whatever came up for you during this meditation.
Use it as a reminder to remind you that your gift is here and it is now.
And sometimes all it takes is stillness and presence in order for us to see that it's always been right here in front of us this whole time.
