Throughout life we shrink ourselves,
We hide ourselves,
And we mask who we really are,
Out of fear or judgement that we are too much.
Or maybe we cling to being one thing and that one thing alone,
Not knowing that all of us is needed.
We can be both.
We can be more than one thing to one person.
We can mean more than one thing to one person.
And we can hold space for polarity within us.
With deep reverence and honor of the duality of our existence,
We learn to hold space for both and not disassociate from one.
We can be soft,
Yet strong.
We can be angry and compassionate.
We can be a leader and still need help.
We can be all things,
Yet nothing at all.
Placing your left hand over your heart.
Placing your right hand over your stomach.
Breathing deeply in through your nose and down into your belly.
And exhaling through the mouth.
Holding ourselves here with compassion,
With kindness,
And with understanding.
With each breath opening our hearts and opening our minds to the possibility of being both.
Holding space for both.
Being with feelings of anger and not disassociating from it,
But allowing it to be there and holding it with compassion.
It's okay to be angry,
Yet compassionate.
It's okay to be both.
I can be fearful,
Yet courageous.
And it's okay to be both.
I give myself permission to be both.
I can be strong and still be soft.
And it's okay to be both.
I give myself permission to be both.
I can be independent and still need support.
And it's okay to be both.
I allow myself to be both.
I can be grieving and still find joy.
And it's okay to experience both.
I allow myself to experience both.
I can be a leader and still need guidance.
And it's okay to be both.
I allow and give myself the permission to be both.
I can be and still and it's okay.
I allow.
I give myself permission.
Setting an intention here for ourselves to strive for wholeness and not perfection.
To honor the uniqueness of our beings and the individuality of our souls.
And instead of shrinking ourselves,
To rise to the occasion of who we are.
Who we are at our core.
Who we were meant to be.
And all that we are.
