Welcome to this guided deep relaxation meditation.
This is going to help you to relax your body,
Still your mind and get ready for the most dreamy night's sleep.
So let's begin by lying down on your back.
Allow your feet to flop out to the side.
Hands can be either side of your body or even placing them onto the heart.
And then taking your attention to your body,
Allowing everything to soften and relax.
As you notice the feel of the bed or mat below,
You feel a wave of softness rolling up from the soles of your feet,
Relaxing your toes,
Ankles and shins.
As you feel your knees relaxing,
Your thighs start to sink deeper and deeper,
Softening your hips and belly.
As you feel this wave of relaxation roll up,
Relaxing your chest and shoulders.
You feel the whole of your back begin to release and relax.
As your arms and fingers relax.
As you feel this calming wave roll up relaxing your neck,
Jaw,
Your teeth are slightly separated.
As you relax your tongue,
Lips,
Cheeks,
Ears and nose.
You feel your eyes relaxing,
Softening your eyebrows and the space in between your eyebrows.
As you relax your forehead and scalp.
Feeling your bones become heavy,
Relaxing your shoulders,
Feeling your bones become heavy,
Sinking deeper and deeper,
Allowing the muscles to become soft and so relaxed.
You see your entire body,
Every single inch of it being utterly and totally relaxed.
And as you lie here in this beautiful state of calm,
You allow yourself to relax and release even more than you ever felt possible.
Allowing any tension to simply melt away.
And giving yourself a moment to enjoy the sensations.
To enjoy this moment of simply being.
Allowing the breath to be soft and relaxed.
As you relax your body and mind to be soft and smooth and steady.
And seeing if there's anything you can let go of.
In your body,
In your mind,
Maybe in your life.
As I leave you here to marinate in this calming sensation.
Taking one minute to do nothing but be still.
And then shifting your awareness back to the room.
To the areas of your body that are touching the bed.
As you gently wiggle the fingers and toes.
And perhaps choosing to drift off to dreamland.
