Taking a mindful pose involves stepping back from the busyness of life and reconnecting with the present moment.
The following guided meditation will help you cultivate the ability to pause,
Breathe and center yourself,
Fostering inner peace and clarity.
You sit or lie down in a comfortable position,
In a quiet space where you won't be disturbed.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths,
Cleansing and relaxing breaths,
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through the mouth.
Start by bringing your awareness to your breath,
Notice the sensations of the air entering your nostrils,
Filling your lungs and then gently leaving your body.
Allow your breath to flow naturally without trying to control it.
Now shift your attention to your body,
Slowly scan your body from head to toe,
Noticing any areas of tension or discomfort.
Take a moment to soften and release any tightness you find,
Simply by breathing into those areas.
Next,
Turn your attention to your emotions,
Acknowledge whatever feelings are present without judgment.
Whether you feel calm,
Stressed,
Happy or anxious,
Simply observe these emotions and let them be.
Turn your attention to your mind.
As you continue to breathe calmly,
Imagine a gentle wave of relaxation washing over them with each breath.
Embrace this moment of pause,
Allowing yourself to fully experience the present.
Remind yourself that it's ok to take this time for yourself.
Finally,
Set a gentle intention for the rest of your day or week.
It could be a commitment to apply the mindful pose,
To practice kindness towards yourself and others,
Or to approach challenges with a calm and open mind.
Feel this intention in your heart as you prepare to end the meditation.
When you feel ready,
Slowly start to bring your awareness back to the room.
Stretch if you need to,
Open your eyes,
Carrying the calm and mindfulness of this pose with you.
Remember the mindful pose is a practice,
So the more you incorporate it into your daily life,
The more natural it will become,
Helping you to respond thoughtfully and compassionately in all situations.
Thank you,
Namaste.
