For this meditation rest one hand inside the other,
Let the shoulders release,
Let the chest release,
Let the legs be heavy and we'll start by bringing to mind a memory.
Bring to mind a time when you were given care,
When someone took care of you,
Gave you time or attention or an opportunity you would have never otherwise had or taught you something.
Bring that memory to mind of when you were receiving a gift and let the body feel into that experience of having received,
Remembering how it feels to be taken care of,
Sitting with that sensation,
Feeling the release,
The glow,
The warmth,
The generosity in that moment and thanking that person in your own mind,
Saying I am grateful to you,
What you did meant so much to me,
Saying thank you and expanding our gratitude out,
Being grateful to live on a beautiful earth with mountains and lakes,
With oceans and forests,
Being grateful for this earth's cities and being grateful for all the communities you are part of,
Sending gratitude for all the good meals you've eaten,
Thanking back to the amazing meals you've had over the course of your life,
Gratitude for the kind words you've heard,
Gratitude for all the beautiful smiles you've received and seen and gratitude for all the joys you felt,
Grateful for the beauty you see every day,
Grateful for the chance to meet others and learn and find joy and walk the earth,
Even feeling grateful now for the challenges you've experienced that help you grow and gratitude for all the moments to come,
Gratitude for the adventure that lies ahead,
Gratitude for all the people you have not met yet who you will love and all the places you have not seen yet that will take your breath away and all the things you have not learned yet that will make a difference in your life,
Grateful for everything life has to offer that you are yet to experience,
Feel gratitude fill your heart like a warm glow of light and finally being grateful to yourself for having done this meditation practice and as you begin to open your eyes looking for things to be grateful for,
Looking at the world with eyes of gratitude as you open your eyes and coming back.
