Hi,
And welcome to this meditation on letting go into sleep.
Just notice how there can be a part of you that is wrestling with anxiety,
Fear,
Or worry.
And there is this other part of you that is observing it all.
Just notice that as you lie down,
These two parts of yourself can exist side by side.
But for tonight,
We're going to consciously choose for the observer part of you to just be present,
Right here and right now.
We're not going to try to get rid of thoughts or feelings tonight.
They will let go all on their own.
All you have to do is listen to my voice and relax.
You allow your entire body to sink into the bed as you relax and allow your head,
Face,
And neck to begin to relax.
Relax.
Smooth your forehead and let go.
Choose to let your jaw relax,
Release,
And drop down.
Let go of any tension in your neck,
Gently moving it around to help the tension release and let go.
Release and relax your shoulders.
Allow them to drop down and relax fully.
Relax the muscles in your chest,
Allowing your breathing to deepen.
Relax the muscles in your upper back and middle back now,
Letting go of any emotional tension you may have been carrying there.
Relax the muscles in your lower back,
Feeling the relaxation deeply needing these muscles,
Helping them to release and let go.
You feel your stomach and digestive system relax.
And become more peaceful and quiet.
The relaxation moves into your waist and hips,
Your pelvis and buttocks.
Relax and let go.
Peace and relaxation now move into the muscles of your legs.
Gently kneading the muscles there,
Helping them to relax,
Release,
And let go.
Your knees feel warm and soothed,
Letting go of any tension or tightness that you may have accumulated throughout the day.
Relaxation moves into your calves,
Ankles,
And feet.
Your feet feel comfortable and relaxed.
Your legs completely release and let go into relaxation.
If there are any other areas of tension,
Relaxation automatically goes there and peacefully lets go.
Your body feels completely relaxed and at peace.
