Hello.
My name is Eden,
And I am a Reiki master,
Meditation guide,
And forever student.
And today we are going to be embarking on a Reiki and meditation supportive journey with the aim,
The goal of balance.
So if balance is something that you are calling in to your day,
To your week,
To your life,
We welcome you right now.
So go ahead and find a comfortable place to lay.
That might be still in bed,
On a couch,
On a yoga mat,
On the ground,
Just making yourself comfy,
Cozy,
Meddling in for the next hour together.
And gently closing the eyes from top to bottom,
Taking a deep breath in through the nose,
And sigh it out the mouth,
In through the nose,
And sigh it out the mouth,
Shoulders move away from the ears,
One more,
In through the nose,
And sigh it out,
Shoulders release into that support system beneath you.
And just letting the breath flow in and out now as it would like today,
Not symmetry.
This doesn't mean there's nothing on the scales of life.
It has more to do with that pivot point on the scales where we hold all of these pieces,
Relationships,
Work,
Travel,
Health,
Family,
And knowing that different days they weigh different amounts on us.
It's about our own ability to hold all of these pieces,
Knowing that the balance of them comes from our capacity to hold.
And yes,
Sometimes that holding looks like creating boundaries,
Orienting your focus towards one thing or another.
It's fluid,
It's flexible,
It's honest,
And it's present.
Just taking another intentional deep breath in and out to balance,
Just to the phrase,
Just letting it wash over you.
And perhaps you imagine the word balance or the feeling that it offers you in the body,
In the heart space.
Maybe you start to imagine that this word or this feeling of balance that's in the heart space starts to gently dissolve,
Imagining it being pumped out alongside your breath and your blood to all the far-reaching corners of the body,
To the fingertips,
To the toes,
To the crown,
And softening into whatever that feels like right now.
And with your next exhale,
Gently letting that focus go,
Again,
Letting the breath move in and out as it pleases.
We'll do a little body scan to physically settle in just a little bit more.
Gently bringing your awareness to the very top,
The crown of your head.
And just rolling your awareness down the head,
Releasing any tension between the eyebrows,
Letting the eyes rest in their sockets,
Knowing they no longer need to search.
And letting the nose be long on the face,
Like the spine in the body.
Releasing the jaw,
Letting the tongue float in the mouth,
Releasing that space behind each ear,
And letting that space between the ears unravel a little bit more.
Finding the shoulders moving away from the ears even more,
Without creating tension in the body,
Without forcing the shoulders away.
But just through relaxing the muscles,
Can you move the shoulders down?
Then a gentle tuck of the chin lets the spine elongate through the crown just a little bit further.
Taking one round of breath into the upper chest,
Letting the shoulders spread.
And a second round of breath into the ribcage,
Letting the ribs open and close.
And a third round of breath deep into the belly,
Belly button reaches to sky,
And then exhale,
Belly button to spine.
And letting the next few rounds of breath here travel to all three of those areas.
And maybe using that same awareness right now to notice where in the body the breath naturally travels to,
The chest,
The ribs,
The belly.
And also letting yourself notice where in the body the breath avoids.
Just taking note here,
No need to force or change right now.
Just accessing that capacity to be present with your current experience in your own body.
And returning to that physical body scan.
Letting all of those little muscles in the arms relax.
Finding that space so that the fingertips gently curl.
Relaxation all the way down the arms,
Through the palms,
Through the fingertips.
And finding that same relaxation,
Wash down the legs,
Through the hips,
Down the hamstrings,
The thighs,
The calves,
The shins.
Witnessing the soles of your feet relax and sending that wave all the way through the toes.
Maybe the toes splay out just a little bit wider as the legs relax.
Taking a few breaths here to just feel the relaxation exist in your body right now.
Witnessing yourself,
Your experience,
What's accessible to you with just a little awareness.
And with your next exhale,
You can gently let that focus go.
And I invite you to settle into a place within you where your calm lives.
This calm place within you,
Where you can be your own observer,
Your own witness to your experiences.
In this place,
Throughout the rest of our time together,
You might witness things such as heat or cold moving through the body.
Perhaps there is a memory that comes to you.
Maybe an emotion washes over you.
Perhaps visualizations or colors,
Maybe just a sense of knowing.
All of these are normal.
All of these are ways in which your system,
Your energetic system,
Your nervous system,
Are releasing energy.
And so I invite you to sit in this calm place within you.
And whenever anything comes up,
Just gently taking note.
That also applies to anything that's floated back into your awareness,
Such as the to-do list,
Or the should-haves,
The could-haves,
The would-haves.
Just noticing where you're drawn to,
Where you're led,
What you notice,
What's moving through you.
And taking that step back in your being to be the one who witnesses it,
Instead of the one enraptured in it.
And once you take that step back to notice where you've wandered off to,
Gently bringing yourself back into this present moment by anchoring back into your breath,
Your heartbeat,
The sound of the music,
The sound of my voice,
Anchoring back into that calm place within you,
Where your presence lives.
That is your assignment.
Okay.
So again,
Just resting here in this calm place within you,
Letting the body,
Letting the mind settle a little bit more.
As I use these next few moments to usher in our Reiki symbols to clear this space that we've created in this moment together.
The initial visualization that's coming through right now is this big,
Long canyon,
This rock wall.
And it really has this reminder,
This energy of not emptiness,
But fullness.
Of all of the elements coming together to create this magnificent landscape.
The earth,
The water,
The fire,
The air,
Working hard over thousands of years to create this thing,
This rock wall,
This canyon,
That's right in front of us.
And it can be really easy to fall into the trap that the work is done,
But the wind still howls,
The water still flows,
The earth still crumbles,
And the fires still rage.
And alchemy never ends.
And how can you let that be a soft landing place for yourself in this moment,
In this pursuit of balance,
Instead of perhaps overwhelming.
Knowing that when things are good,
When things are this beautiful and real,
It will always be changing.
Letting yourself do the same is an incredibly invaluable pursuit.
And a part of the offering yourself up to be changed is doing something new,
Is shedding something old,
Is a willingness to be proven wrong.
Knowing that being right is such a little thing.
And that discomfort is your signpost of where to go next when acting out of bravery,
Looking for the change,
Knowing that you deserve to get to know you.
Deepening into the canyon of self,
Relax into your system.
As I continue to bring in the Reiki symbols and listen to what they have to say right now,
As I assure the power symbol in,
The visual it's bringing with it is that of like two fans opening up above you.
It's this kind of idea that that power is a little more comfortable being outsourced right now.
So we invite the power to be more oriented in self,
Especially as changes are being ushered in,
Being followed through on.
It can feel like the ground is crumbling,
Even when these choices were yours to make.
Asking yourself,
What is steady within me that can hold me as I make all of these choices and take all of these actions to shift the external?
What is steady within me?
Maybe it's the power of breath.
Maybe it's anchoring into that power of choice,
That power of right relationship with self that comes with following intuitions and nudges and invitations,
Power of the resilience,
Power of love.
What already lives within you that can be a source of power as the external restructures?
And taking a few slow,
Deep breaths into that answer.
Taking a moment to release any area in the body that has tensed back up and continuing those few deep breaths into that answer.
And this is how we let this integrate into our bodies,
Our nervous systems,
Our energetic channels.
By letting the body find spaciousness as we usher in a new idea or an old truth.
Relaxing,
Opening,
Trusting,
Knowing.
Perhaps you add that phrase,
That answer,
That feeling into your heart space right alongside balance.
Envisioning it perhaps written out or as a feeling or a color.
And again,
Imagining that being pumped to all far-reaching corners of the body,
Just like the blood and the breath.
Letting that knowing reach the fingertips,
Out-releasing that focus and gently,
Slowly moving back into that calm place within you where your presence and your awareness are held.
And bring in the mental,
Emotional,
Spiritual symbol.
The visual that comes along is this kind of like strong metal rod perpendicular to the body around the knees.
It's this strong grounding fierceness to it.
It's not this air of wanting to be shifted or changed,
But more just seen for what it is.
The strengths that you have in these mental,
Emotional,
Spiritual capacities and how they can be this strong rod to anchor you down.
And with it being around the knees,
There's this idea that the knees are this place within us that are an integral part of carrying us forward on our path,
While also making it as comfortable as possible,
While also in a way extremely felt.
Just ushering in of balance,
Even as you take one step at a time.
Letting yourself pivot on the path,
Constantly orienting inwards to ask that mental,
Spiritual,
Emotional self,
Which way do I want to orient for the next step?
Really placing your attention on one step at a time.
Releasing any expectation of knowing the big,
Grand picture by just taking that first step.
Knowing your path will be unique,
And that the only way to truly forge it and make sure that it is yours is to constantly turn your eyes inward,
Back to that spiritual,
Mental,
Emotional self.
Asking it,
What's next?
And just taking that one next step.
Just the one is enough.
That one step a little to the right can change your whole trajectory,
But the focus can just be,
And I invite you to remember to just keep the focus on the next step.
Especially with this idea of balance,
Very easy for there to be feelings of overwhelm as we try to zoom out into this bigger picture of our lives,
Of all of the dreams and desires that we hold as a human,
And what a privilege it would be to be able to do all the things and experience every slice of life we could possibly dream up,
And we let that go as we soften into the remembrance that it will never all be done.
As we remember that,
We can soften into what's right here,
And releasing the overwhelm as we focus in on today,
To the body,
To the mind,
To what's lighting you up,
To where your attention goes,
And taking that one next step.
Offering that message to your system,
To your body,
Your mind,
With another few slow,
Intentional,
Deep breaths.
Again,
Scrolling through the body,
Noticing any little places that have tensed back up,
And gently letting those go as you keep breathing this message in and out,
Softening,
Opening,
Unfurling,
To what is right here.
How close can you get to the present moment?
And gently,
Slowly,
Wandering your way back into that calm center within you,
Where your presence,
Your awareness,
Rests in your energetic system as it projects out into the world around us,
Asking for any messages that it would like to send us through the lens of balance.
Often,
In sessions,
I speak on the difference between intention and expectation,
Reminding us all that we can go into an experience,
Or a day,
Or a week,
Or a life with an intention,
With something that we want to bring forth or receive,
But we must leave the expectation at the door.
The expectation causes suffering,
The intention creates liberation.
And,
The message that just came through here,
In the aura with balance,
Is that expectation and balance just can't coexist in the same room,
Because balance is so fluid,
And changing,
And that many times,
Can be found just through our own restructuring of how we view all of the things that we hold.
And,
It's almost impossible to expect anything from balance,
As things are always changing,
As time keeps passing,
As life keeps being lived,
As the earth continues to turn.
Once the expectation is placed,
It's already moot.
We're softening into the waters of balance,
The ebb and flow that still creates its own equilibrium,
But that is always,
And will always,
Be moving,
Shifting,
Changing,
Even when you don't feel the tide,
Within your own life,
At the moment.
The undercurrent is there,
Of change,
And the universe energetically likes balance.
It's this push,
And pull,
Ebb,
And flow,
Sponda,
Of the universe.
So,
Starting to imagine that your breath is water,
Instead of air,
And it moves into the body,
Through the soles of the feet,
And travels up to the belly,
With that inhale,
And the exhale travels up the body,
And out the top of the head.
Just imagining this specific breath,
Inhaling this watery breath,
Through the soles of the feet,
And exhale,
It moves out the crown,
Back into the world.
So,
Focusing on this little visualization,
And breath work,
For a few minutes here,
And you soften the soles of the feet,
And you soften the crown of the head,
And perhaps you start to notice the awareness,
Coupled with the imagination,
Can create a sensation,
In your body.
With enough softening,
And opening,
Perhaps you start to feel the breath moving in this way,
Through the feet,
And out the crown,
And perhaps it feels a little bit more like water,
Like a tide,
With this cleansing effect.
Just noticing what it's like to imagine this,
In your body,
Right now.
Again,
Softening any areas of the body that have tensed back up,
And continuing this breath pattern,
For just a few more rounds.
Two more,
Just like that.
Softest rounds yet.
And then,
With that final exhale,
Gently letting that breath pattern go,
Letting the breath move in and out,
Again,
As it pleases,
And finding your way,
Gently,
Slowly,
Back into that calm place within you.
Where your presence,
Your awareness,
Rests.
Being drawn down into the root chakra,
At the base of the pelvis.
That's this pivot point of our energetic system.
It can also be known as that base of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
Having our basic needs met,
Food,
Water,
Shelter,
Money.
If some of these pieces shift,
Everything else can feel that shift,
Too.
Our creativity,
Our willpower,
Our love,
Our voice,
Our intuition,
Our connection.
It can all be affected if that base,
Or that pivot point,
Shifts.
That is so natural.
As humans,
Having our basic needs met allows for us to flourish,
And to connect and create,
And to find richness in our lives.
When we know that our basic needs are spoken for,
Are taken care of,
Sometimes even with our own awareness and our own joyful choice,
These pieces of the root shift.
A new job,
A new relationship,
A new home,
A new diet.
The newness that can come with these shifts,
Towards more fulfillment,
Towards more alignment.
That natural shift that happens.
Rarely can we take this Jenga tower,
And quickly remove a block at the bottom,
And replace it with another,
Without everything else above it,
Kind of shifting and swaying,
At the very least.
Where is that steadiness in you?
Again,
Returning to that question,
That answer,
Perhaps,
Maybe even letting a second thought,
Or idea,
Or word,
Come into your awareness now.
How are you well-resourced within your own life,
Within your own body,
Within your own mind,
To hold yourself as the scales shift,
And work to rebalance themselves?
Holding that pivot point as steady as you can,
As it inevitably still shifts.
Breathing low and slow,
Into that answer,
Or answers.
Maybe remembering where you placed it in your body,
Maybe remembering the feeling of it moving to all four corners,
Or adding that experience in again.
Softening anywhere in the body that has tensed back up,
And letting go.
If you haven't already,
Finding yourself in that soft,
Calm,
Resting place,
Within you,
Again.
This is being called now into the heart.
While the root is that pivot point,
As the basis of our energetic structure,
The heart is seen as this central alchemizer.
The idea that if we are truly embodying love,
Every other piece shifts,
And adjusts.
Radiating out,
Through us,
And into the world.
Affecting change,
Alignment,
Truth.
Just by acting in love.
Go ahead and start to ask your breath to move into this upper chest,
Around the heart.
Letting the pectoral muscles spread.
Letting the shoulders relax.
Just finding some spaciousness in the chest,
With the breath,
As your tool.
Maybe with each breath,
The side bodies move further away from the midline.
Maybe the neck grows a little longer.
Maybe the chest wants to move towards the face.
Just asking the breath to move into this heart area.
Now,
With each inhale,
Starting to map out how far the breath travels in the body,
Around the heart.
Starting to find the edges of the breath.
Maybe you stop feeling the breath right at that shoulder.
Right by the ribs.
Maybe the middle of the throat.
What would it be like to soften the edge of the breath?
Letting the breath travel just an inch further,
In any direction of your choosing.
Maybe you start to feel the breath in your nose.
Maybe you start to feel it down into the ribcage.
Maybe you start to feel it in the back of the body.
Maybe it starts to radiate down towards the elbows.
Just allowing yourself to soften the edges of the breath over and over again.
And perhaps you soften so much now,
You start to let the breath move down into the pelvis,
Up into the chest.
The third eye center.
Down to the wrists.
And perhaps you start to soften the breath so much now,
Even if this turns imaginal.
Softening so much now that it goes up to the crown,
Down to the fingertips,
And travels down the legs to the toes.
Watching your whole system breathe,
Even if it's just in your mind's eye.
Softening,
Opening,
Relaxing,
Receiving.
And we act out of love,
True love,
Not love masked as something else,
But true,
Heart-centered love.
We will always be balanced,
No matter what swirls around us,
No matter what the day brings.
Moving from this place out,
From the inside out,
You can never go wrong.
Because this place also offers grace.
Or even when things are fluid,
And changing,
And flowing,
You have grace to anchor into,
Too,
Alongside that love.
Of knowing it will never all be perfect,
It will never all be done.
But you are here,
And you have this moment,
And you have whatever is in front of you,
Being held right now.
Breathing into grace,
And letting that thought of grace,
That thought of love,
Just soften into your system,
Just like we've done before.
As we gently start to release,
And bring that mind back online,
Starting to feel the breath in the body,
Starting to feel the texture of your clothes on your skin,
Starting to feel where the four corners of the room are without opening the eyes,
Just sensing.
Sensing the floor beneath,
The ceiling above,
And the body you are within.
Taking another deep breath in and out to balance.
And whenever you are ready to rejoin the day,
You can gently blink your eyes open.
Thank you.
