You Are Creative: Planting Seeds Of Success And Support
This meditation fosters a deepened relationship with your own creativity and that of the world around you by focusing on the miracles that are already abundantly here like the heartbeat, our communities, this new day, and the inherent infinite possibilities these pieces all offer you. We suggest sharing this thoughtful track with someone who inspires you with their ideas, actions, or words in daily living. This meditation is dedicated to my dear friend Jess, who convinced me to buy a microphone and start recording meditations.

Hello,
My name is Eden and I will be guiding us on a short little morning meditation today.
So go ahead and get comfy cozy whatever that means for you right now.
Maybe that's a cozy blanket.
Maybe that's still lying in bed.
Maybe that's with your hands curled around a warm cup of coffee or tea.
Or a pet cozying up with you.
And perhaps there's a wiggle of the hips to settle in.
A relaxation of the shoulders to let go.
And allowing the eyes to rest in their sockets as the eyes close from top to bottom to turn the vision inward.
Just taking a nice slow intentional deep breath in and out of the belly now.
Good.
Two more just like that.
Knowing there is no rush here.
And now letting the breath flow in and out as it so pleases.
This morning we're going to invite in some reflection around creativity.
So I ask,
What is your relationship with your own creativity?
What comes up for you even as I offer that question?
And perhaps you're finding this meditation while a piece of art waits to be finished across the room.
Maybe you're like me and there's a creativity wound from a long time ago.
Saying that you're not creative or creativity is for other people living other lives.
Or you'll be creative when you have more time.
Most of us are likely somewhere in between the two.
Working to cultivate a deepening relationship with your own creativity.
And I just ask,
What is your relationship with creativity like today?
And while we're all in different places within this relationship,
We all also come from the same creative space and power within life itself.
And the more that each of us working to reclaim pockets of our creativity can acknowledge and accept this,
The easier it will be to access our own innate creativity.
So go ahead and right now just turn your inner eyes to your heartbeat in the center of the chest.
Softening all the little muscles throughout the chest around the heart to just experiment with letting the heartbeat be felt even further from the heart.
Letting that vibration,
That cadence spread just a little further.
Even stronger.
And softening even more now so the heartbeat begins to radiate even a little further towards the throat,
Towards the shoulders,
Towards the belly.
And softening even more,
Letting it radiate further and further,
Softening the body so much now that you feel that heartbeat radiating through your entire being,
Down to the toes,
Out to the fingertips,
Up to the crown,
Along the ridges of the ears.
Softening to this feeling,
This inherent creative power that flows through each of us through this heartbeat.
Coupled with this human ability to notice our beating heart,
To stand with it,
Beside it,
Holding it in presence with the rest of us.
It is so much more than this heartbeat,
But at the same time cannot be separated.
Because our hearts are beating,
Endless creativity flows within us.
Because you are creation.
Because the potential is still unlimited.
And a part of that potential,
Yes,
Is our beating heart.
And that right now we are lucky enough for it to continue to beat.
And the other part of this innate creativity is today.
As Mark Nepo says,
Creation is ongoing.
The world begins anew each day.
This is the miracle that makes not a sound,
But which changes everything if we can be quiet enough to feel it happen.
When we participate in this,
We begin anew each day.
Go ahead and take another slow,
Deep breath in and out of the belly,
Letting that soak in.
Letting this truth integrate into your system,
Softening so that you feel it radiating through you just like the heartbeat.
Alongside that heartbeat.
We are innately creative because we are creation.
Because we are constantly dancing in tandem with creation as it unfolds around us and within us,
Embodied.
A part of this creative web,
Whether we feel it at times or not.
A necessary jewel in this necklace of life that strings behind and in front of us.
We all play a part,
Yet that does not mean we're pigeonholed into just one role.
So long as we show up for the day and for ourselves,
We are creative.
And while we cannot always be passionate,
As passion ebbs and flows through us just like that heartbeat,
We can always be curious.
Curious to what's here,
What's around us.
Curious of our own inner workings,
Reactions,
Stories,
Joys,
And grievances.
Curious as we notice where our eyes are drawn and also where they're not.
Following these nudges like it's our own game of cat and mouse that is personal to us.
Because it is us,
Unfolding in front of our very own eyes as we let our senses go wherever they please.
The most important mystery to solve that will always be unfolding is the following of our own curiosity.
And yes,
At times it will lead to passion.
It will lead to overt creation.
But more than anything else,
Our curiosity will also always remind us of our own innate creativity because we are alive and we get to keep letting ourselves be wrong.
We get to overturn past beliefs.
We get to be uncomfortable and to notice what that's like.
We get to let ourselves rewrite old stories into something more supportive.
Let ourselves bake cookies from our childhood,
Opening up that stuffy book on the shelf,
Being grateful for whatever is right here,
All of it.
This is the water that nurtures the seed of our inherent creativity.
This is the curiosity that begets gratitude.
Maybe there's something in your life that allows you to be this more creative version of yourself,
This more open version of yourself,
Showing up in this way that you so desire and deserve.
I have a friend like that.
Those ones that believe in you,
That put one little vote of confidence in your head so that the idea can blossom open in your own curiosity.
And the innate creativity allows it to flourish.
It's okay sometimes to need the outside world to water the seed for you.
This meditation is dedicated to one of those friends who told me I should get a microphone and start recording meditations.
I knew it would bring me joy,
But I did not know how deep of a well of creativity it would unlock within me.
So I'm wondering,
What seeds can you water in the minds of your friends,
Of the folks that you love?
And admire and believe in?
And what a gift it is to bolster everyone around us too,
Without expectation,
But out of pure adoration and your own curiosity.
Because our innate creativity is worth nothing in a vacuum.
We don't exist in one anyways.
Taking a deep breath in and out of the belly,
Softening into this idea even more.
Of noticing where you are led through curiosity.
Of being so present with yourself that you start to plant these seeds.
And starting to water the seeds in others as well.
Vocalizing your beliefs,
What you see in them and their ideas.
Remembering that we all just deserve to create because we are creation.
The web that we all exist within.
Letting yourself soften into your own creativity by just existing within this miracle of being alive today.
And I invite you to remember that wherever you are in this relationship with your own creativity,
You can always soften into the understanding that there is a miracle here.
Of just being alive today with that heartbeat.
With that curiosity.
And the boundless potential that this inherently offers you.
This new day.
This alive you.
And just starting to take a few more of those slow,
Intentional breaths.
Coming back to that comfy,
Cozy spot you created.
Maybe coming back to that beverage,
That pet,
That soft blanket on your body,
The room you exist within right now.
And taking just one more moment here to consider who you'd like to share this little meditation with.
Someone you believe in.
Someone you admire.
Someone who you know has these creative seeds.
And you just want to water that within them today.
Knowing this ripple effect is a part of your own creative offering.
Existing in this world actively.
And we remember that where you are drawn to is a part of your own inherent creativity.
And how lucky we are as friends to be the ones in your orbit considered by you in this moment.
Whenever you're ready to rejoin this day and to acknowledge and perhaps harness your own creative power just by continuing to breathe and to hold this heartbeat in your chest.
To see creativity in yourself and in others.
And always sit in gratitude and curiosity to foster this miracle.
You can gently blink your eyes open.
Welcome back and see you soon.
