We'll start by just noticing what's in our space.
You can start with your eyes open or your eyes closed.
Looking at something that you don't usually look at.
Noticing it in a different way.
Or with your eyes closed.
See what you see.
Shapes,
Colors.
Either way.
And when you're ready.
To either open your eyes if they're not already open.
Or turn your attention.
To what you might be hearing.
In your room.
Noises from the outside world.
Ambient noises from inside your room.
The noise of your own.
Bye.
Your heartbeat.
Crickle crackle of your neck.
And this is not to get annoyed at the noise,
Just to notice.
Are there any smells in your space?
Or just a good smell of home.
Are there any tastes in your mouth?
And notice where You are holding your hands.
Are they in your lab?
Holding on to each other.
Not to move them or judge them or anything.
Noticing where your feet are.
Are they touching the floor?
When they fold it up.
Can you bring your awareness to.
.
.
The skin.
Where your skin is touching.
Oh,
Thanks.
Where your skin is touching air.
The skin of your face.
How does the skin of your face need to move if you would like to have a little smile on your face.
And as you focus in on the skin.
Feel it.
Expand.
And let go as you breathe.
Your skin has to stretch.
Just a little bit.
To accommodate.
The air coming in.
That gives you life.
So with your natural breath.
Let's just notice.
For the next minute or so.
The breath coming in.
And the breath going out.
And as you tap into that breath.
You can set an intention if you wish.
For something that you'd like to let go of that is not serving you today.
It doesn't have to be.
Monumental.
It can be literal.
Then it could be monumental.
Just something you'd like to sit down.
And as you're focusing on your natural breath,
I'm just gonna read a quote from Jack Kornfield.
About loving trust.
The more we sit and pay attention,
The more we realize how little we actually control.
The movements of the mind.
The waves of joy and sorrow.
The changing tides of the body.
We begin to sense that freedom doesn't come from holding on.
But from letting go.
So while we're doing our breathing and our.
Visualization.
Just keep in mind.
That when the.
.
.
Thanks.
Of the day and the planning and the worries come in.
That you can just politely pat them aside.
And come back to the.
Non-work at hand.
The breath.
We are back to the beginning of our.
Chakra cycle.
To look again.
At the first chakra,
The root.
Appreciating the trees.
Trees offer so much to us.
They offer a respite from the crazy world.
They are peaceful.
They are connected.
To each other.
They allow us to breathe.
Trees are rooted and stable.
End.
They're open to the light and they reach toward it.
They have both.
Just like we can have both when we remember.
So as you breathe gently.
Bring your awareness to the very,
Very tip of your tailbone.
See if you can bring some energy there.
Imagine.
That there is.
A tiny shoot tiny green shoot that is trying to emerge from the bottom of your tailbone.
The color of the first chakra is red,
So.
You can shine a little red light on your.
.
.
Tailbone and see if you can coax that shoot to come.
As you're breathing.
Naturally,
Gently.
And as that shoot emerges.
It starts to go down towards the earth.
It moves and divides.
It goes through.
Apartment building floors.
It goes through basement foundations.
And as it keeps going.
Gravitating toward the earth.
Becomes thicker.
And branched.
So that by the time it reaches the ground,
It has created this network of stability for you.
So imagine those roots going deep into the ground.
And now when you breathe in.
Imagine that you're breathing in that peaceful still.
Energy of the earth.
And you can make your breaths a little bit deeper here.
Imagine with each breath that the stillness and peace just wash over you.
And then as you exhale,
Imagine shedding that thing.
That you would like to get let go of.
And sending it back into the earth so it can be clean.
And breathing like this.
Breathing in the peace and the stillness.
And letting go as you breathe out,
Offering this.
Thing that no longer serves you.
Back to the earth.
Cleansing.
Imagine this like a circular.
Coming in up the front of the body.
Washing you.
Going out down the back of the body.
Getting clean.
And of course,
If this is not available to you,
Just breathe.
And again,
Of course,
When the.
.
.
Thoughts start up,
Just acknowledge that they are thoughts.
That's what our brain does.
Just set them aside.
And go back to the breath.
Back to the cleansing.
Back to the piece.
There's a part of the quote that I love.
That says,
The more we realize how little we actually control.
Can you feel in your body where you hold?
The control.
To your stomach.
Your shoulders.
Your forehead,
Your neck.
And can you give yourself permission to loosen that area,
To let it go?
I'd like to imagine that.
All of us sitting here together.
Even though we're in different places.
That our roots.
Kind of intermingle.
And connect.
Connect with all people.
So it's a good meditation to do when you're feeling and secure.
Worried about the world.
Going back to the roots,
Going back to the trees.
So we can start.
By thanking the earth for taking care of us.
All of our stuff.
And cleaning it.
And pulling our roots back up into our bodies.
Take a couple of.
Final deep breaths.
Wiggle around a little bit.
The little fingers and toes.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
Thanks again for being here with me.
And Be well.
Feel grounded.
Secure and safe.
Today.
And may we have.
Peace on Earth.
