This is a guided meditation for creating space when mistakes are made and leaning into the opportunity for forgiveness and even curiosity and growth.
As always,
If you'd like to welcome in the gentle self-avening touch,
A soothing,
Moving hug starting at the top of your shoulders down to your elbows or rubbing your palms against one another as though you're running your hands under warm water,
I highly recommend that you do so.
Let's start with a gentle cleansing,
Soothing breath in to the count of four,
Three,
Two,
And one and release to a count of six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
I'd like to invite you to have your mind float back across the course of your life and find a time when you were really excited about learning something new,
A time where your brain just felt electric with the possibility and the curiosity of experiencing a new experience or having new knowledge.
Just invite your mind to float around until you find that experience.
What does it feel like to be curious and driven about the possibility of something new,
Of gaining a new skill or a new talent,
Of learning a new piece of information to enhance your world?
Once you've found your experience,
I invite you to bring it to the front and center of your awareness.
Get as big,
Bold,
And vibrant as you can.
What does that energy feel like in your body?
If that experience had a color,
What color would it be?
If it had a scent,
What would it smell like?
Fresh citrus,
Vibrant mint,
Or even a soothing lavender?
What does your unique experience of curiosity and drive feel like in your mind and your body?
How do your senses bear witness to this delightful experience?
And as you bring that experience to life and move into deeper relationship with it,
I invite you to bring it in with a gentle breath,
Inviting that energy to expand within you as we breathe in.
One,
Two,
Three,
Two,
One,
And release to a count of six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
And one.
Beautiful.
And invite that energy to stay present and engaged as we now slightly shift our attention to a time where a mistake was made,
A time where you feel as though you've let yourself or someone else down.
Just invite your mind to now roam across your life and find a time you just felt as though you weren't your best.
Just gently connect with that time.
Notice the energy and the movement of your mind and your body in that experience.
And then let's return to our experience of excitement and curiosity about learning something new.
What does it look like?
Does that energy have a shape,
Emotion to it,
Sparkling water,
Floating bubbles?
And again,
Welcoming the smell,
The sensory of experience,
This curiosity,
This drive and motivation to the front and center of your awareness.
Let's deepen our breath and our relationship with it.
Bring in to the count of four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And releasing anything less than preferable to the count of six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
And one.
Fantastic.
And again,
Gently dip your toe back into the water at that time when a mistake was made and something didn't quite go right,
Or perhaps some less than preferable thoughts about you or the world around you showed up.
Maybe you even called yourself a name or two.
Just notice that energy.
Connect with it briefly.
Let's turn our attention back to that beautiful inspired sense of curiosity and motivation.
What are we going to learn today?
What's new and beautiful about this world?
Deepening your sensory experience of what does it feel like to breathe in that energy,
To see that warmth or that movement,
Inviting that experience to become bold and vibrant around you,
And gently again breathing in that color and inviting it to be bold and vibrant now within you.
Breathing in and deepening to the count of four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And release anything heavy that doesn't belong to the count of six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
And one.
Beautiful.
And if this energy of excitement or curiosity,
Motivation,
Whatever it might be,
This beautifully colored self had a name or a label or a title or feeling even,
What would you call it?
How can we invite this to become a natural part of your brain story,
Of your internal narrative as you navigate your world?
Find whatever that statement,
Thought,
Or feeling is and repeat it in your mind.
Might be strong,
Curious,
Be vibrant.
This is the feeling of feeling vibrant and alive.
Perhaps a phrase,
I've got this.
Whatever your chosen experience is and its beautifully titled self,
Breathe that in and write the name of the experience of that on the floor in your mind's eye.
Whatever it might be,
An electric,
Vibrant handwriting in front of you.
Inviting in to the count of four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And another steady and deep exhale to the count of six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Beautiful.
And just gentle your breath now and continue inviting in that vibrant experience,
That bold,
Vivacious colored self,
Igniting it within you,
That curiosity and that drive connect into it and knowing that this is a part of you.
And anytime in the future that you notice a mistake or a feeling of not being your best,
Invite your brain to connect to this beautifully vibrant experience.
The more you deepen your relationship with this on a day to day basis,
The more your brain will have a new opportunity for self-empowered love and care in the face of a difficult moment.
It's time to design your brain and architect your mind.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
