Gratitude Meditation Series โ€“ Inner Alchemy โ€“ Cultivating and Generating the Energy and Quality of Gratitude Internally This meditation is designed to help you cultivate and begin to embody the quality and the energy of gratitude within your own body,

Mind,

Emotions and thought process.

So let's begin.

If you would just relax and let go.

Finding a position of comfort so that you can let go even more.

Now,

If you would gently close your eyes and allow yourself to go deeper.

Following the inflow and the outflow of your breath.

With love.

With care.

With gentleness.

And going deeper and deeper with every exhale.

Aware that you are aware.

That you are sinking deeper and deeper into relaxation.

With every exhalation.

Letting go.

More.

And more.

And more.

And more.

Choose that.

And it will happen.

Quite naturally.

Now bring your awareness at the level of your tailbone.

In the region of your pelvic floor.

And in the area of your pelvis.

And in the area of your pelvis.

And in the area of your pelvis.

And in the area of your pelvis.

In the region of your pelvic floor.

And imagine or feel that you can breathe through this space.

Inhaling and relaxing in the area of your tailbone.

Relaxing there.

Inhaling and relaxing in the area of your tailbone.

And resting your awareness there.

Now imagine or feel that from the area of your tailbone you can draw the breath in and up your spine.

Following the path of your spine.

From your tailbone all the way up to the base of your skull.

See the breath moving all the way up into your head,

At the very top of your head.

Now as you exhale.

Imagine or feel that you can trace your breath.

Descending to the front of your body.

From the top of your skull.

Down to the front of your spine.

Until it moves down to the area of your tailbone.

This circuit is called the microcosmic orbit in Taoism.

And it is known as an energy circuit that you can learn to cultivate in order to allow for more energy and vitality to flow through your entire body.

In addition to circulating energy or life force or chi,

You can circulate qualities through the microcosmic orbit by giving a certain quality to the energy that you are circulating through it.

In this process you use your breath to become aware of the energy circulating there and to familiarize yourself with it.

So that you can learn to cultivate more and more energy through the microcosmic orbit.

Now that you are aware of this process,

Let's practice circulating the breath up and down the spine a few more times before we imbibe the energy with these qualities.

Inhaling,

Following the breath at the back of the spine as you move the energy up.

Until it reaches the crown of the head.

Exhaling,

Following the breath at the front of the spine as you move the energy back down.

Until it returns to the tailbone.

Inhale,

Tailbone to crown.

Exhale,

Crown to tailbone.

Inhale,

Tailbone to crown.

Exhale,

Crown to tailbone.

Keep following the energy by focusing on the inhalations and exhalation.

And tracing them along the back and then the front of your spine.

Again and again and again.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Up your back.

Down your front.

Relax the breath.

Relax the body.

Let the energy flow be gentle and smooth.

Now imagine feeling or let yourself feel completely relaxed right now.

What it feels like in your body to feel completely relaxed.

If you find it challenging to bring up this feeling of deep relaxation naturally.

Remember a time when you felt most relaxed in your life.

Bring up the feeling of relaxation associated with this memory.

And let yourself completely relax.

Once you're there,

In the feeling of relaxation.

Feeling relaxation.

Feeling deeply relaxed.

Let go of the memory.

And just stay with the feeling.

Just the feeling.

Fully and completely relaxed right now.

Once you feel this energy of deep relaxation.

Intend to draw this energy of deep relaxation up and down your spine.

Allowing for the energy of relaxation to circulate through the microcosmic orbit.

And by doing so,

To move through your entire body.

To flow and resonate throughout your entire body,

Cells and being.

Feeling completely relaxed.

Feel that.

Embody that.

Move that energy up and down your spine.

Feel this energy of deep relaxation for your whole body.

Until you feel completely relaxed.

Safe and secure.

Inhale.

Relaxation.

Exhale.

Relaxation.

More.

And more.

And more.

Relax your breath.

Relax your body.

Feel the energy flowing gently and smoothly through each and every cell of your being.

Now remaining deeply relaxed.

Imagine feeling or let yourself feel confident right now.

What it feels like in your body to feel completely confident.

In yourself.

And in your life.

If you find it challenging to bring up this feeling of confidence naturally.

Then remember a time or different times in your life.

When you felt confident.

In yourself.

Something you did that brought you this feeling of confidence.

Bring up this feeling of confidence associated with these or these memories.

And let yourself feel really good about yourself.

Once you're there.

In the feeling of confidence.

Feeling confidence.

Feeling confident in yourself.

Let go of the memory.

And just stay with the feeling.

Just the feeling.

Fully and completely confident right now.

While remaining completely relaxed.

Feeling confident in yourself.

Right now.

And embodying what it feels like in your body to feel confident.

Trusting yourself.

With all of your life decisions.

Once you feel this energy of confidence.

Then to draw the energy of confidence up and down your spine.

Just like you did with relaxation.

Allowing for the energy of confidence to circulate through the microcosmic orbit.

And by doing so to move through your entire body.

To flow and resonate throughout your entire body,

Cells and being.

Feeling confidence.

Feel that.

And embody that.

Move that energy up and down your spine.

Over and over again.

Until you feel completely confident.

Feeling confident.

Completely trusting yourself and your life choices.

Now feeling completely relaxed and confident.

Imagine feeling or let yourself feel a deep sense of joy and laughter.

Right now.

What it actually feels like in your body to feel joy and laughter.

If you find it challenging to bring up this feeling of joy and laughter naturally.

And just remember a time when you felt joy and laughter in your life.

Bring up the feeling of joy and laughter associated with this memory.

And embrace it.

Be in it.

One with it.

Once you're there.

In the feeling of joy and laughter.

Feeling joyful,

Feeling laughter.

Let go of the memory.

And just stay with the feeling.

Feel the shaking feeling of laughter.

Moving through your body.

Clearing and dispelling old energies.

Tend to draw this energy up and down your spine.

Allowing for the energy of joy and laughter to circulate through the microcosmic orbit.

And by doing so,

To move through your entire body.

To flow and resonate throughout your entire body,

Cells and being.

Feeling joyful,

Light and filled with laughter.

Feel that.

Embody that.

And move that energy up and down your spine,

Over and over again.

Model this energy of joy and laughter for your whole body and energy system.

Until you feel completely joyful and laughing internally.

Feeling really good inside of you.

Imagine what it feels like or let yourself feel unconditional love right now.

What it feels like in your body to experience unconditional love.

Loving for no other reason but to love.

If you find it challenging to bring up this feeling of unconditional love naturally,

Then remember a time when you felt unconditional love in your life.

Or what it would feel like to give or receive unconditional love right now.

Bring up the feeling of unconditional love associated with this memory.

In the feeling of unconditional love,

Feeling unconditionally loved or loving,

Magical! This meditation is truly an answer to a prayer, a vision. Two years ago I created a vision board on which I put a picture of a rushing white waterfall with the word "orbit" above it. Yesterday, as I looked at it, I was reflecting on what that might mean, and now I see it is the microcosmic orbit about which you speak. The waterfall represents the light vibrations of whatever I send through this circuit. Very serendipitous. Very powerful. I feel fantastic now! Thank you! 4/8/23
