Good morning and welcome to the artist's morning.
My name is Darius and I'm so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Let's begin our practice.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to keep them open for just a moment.
Before we go inwards,
Just look around at your space.
Maybe it's a space you are very familiar with.
Maybe it's a new space.
Regardless,
I want to invite you to just notice and see and witness in a way where it feels new,
Taking stock of all the things,
All the colors,
All the shapes,
All the textures,
All the shadows.
Whose place is this?
What place is this?
How did we get here?
Perhaps silly questions.
Perhaps not.
How did we get here?
Even if you can access 1% curiosity,
Sincere curiosity,
How did I get here?
Let's take a nice deep breath.
Coming back to our bodies and if it's available to you,
Closing your eyes now,
Beginning to take deeper breaths and continuing to play with that question.
How did I get here?
How did I get here?
Wherever here is for you,
You have never been here now.
This moment,
This place has never come together before.
You have never been here now.
This is the furthest you have ever been.
This is the furthest I have ever been.
It's easy to miss that,
To take that for granted.
For me,
I remind myself gently,
Lovingly,
Awakeningly that not everybody gets this far.
But I did,
But you did,
But we did.
Continue taking deep breaths,
Softening the energy in your head.
I know I'm asking lots of questions and those questions often go into our heads.
God bless our heads,
Our amazing heads,
Our minds.
Taking a few deep breaths,
Allowing our incredible minds to slow down.
There's nothing you need to do.
We're just playing here,
Asking silly questions,
Asking sacred questions,
Playing together.
Breathe deep into your heart,
Feel your feet beneath you.
Sitting with a tall,
Gentle spine,
Heart open,
Voice open,
Vision open,
Third eye open.
How did we get here?
This place,
So many things here.
In my particular space,
There's photos of my family,
Wow.
There's all sorts of tools that help me create,
Microphones and computers and cameras and lights.
What an interesting space.
A space I frequent every single day,
And yet I miss it.
I miss all the wonderful things,
All the blessings,
All the gifts.
Let's take a nice deep breath here together,
Breathing in,
Big exhale out.
I'm going to share a belief,
An idea,
A possibility,
And you can throw it away or you can play with it even for a moment.
What if all of this is just bonus?
What if we are living in the bonus?
What if all we really need is some food,
Some shelter,
Some companionship,
And everything else is bonus?
Everything else is a bonus,
And somehow we forgot that we are living in the bonus.
We are living in the bonus.
You can reject that idea,
You can just let it float through you.
Even 1% zooming out curious,
What if life was way simpler than I have been believing?
What if all the things I thought I needed,
They were all just bonus?
How did I get here?
How did you get here?
Perhaps a part of you is waking up and remembering,
Remembering how simple it all could be,
Remembering how simple it all is.
What if we were living in the bonus?
This is our last song this morning,
I'm going to sit back,
Leave some space for you in that idea to play,
To vibe,
To float,
Or to do anything you desire.
Bravo,
Dear artist,
Bravo,
Dear creator,
You made it to the end of our meditation today.
For that,
I am so grateful.
Let's take a deep breath here together to bring our practice to an end,
Breathing in,
I'm always so surprised that my joy lives right beneath one good breath.
Close my eyes,
I take a deep breath,
And I often begin to giggle.
Joy,
It's there,
It's everywhere,
Everywhere.
Thank you for going on this journey with me.
For those that are joining us live at the artist morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock,
Share an optional journaling prompt,
And allow us to continue exploring this idea in this practice.
And of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on insight timer,
You can do the same.
Thank you once again for meditating with me.
My name is Darius,
And I will see you next time.
