Hello and welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Our practice today is intended to help us intentionally let go of the past and step in to the future.
Let's begin.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to close them now.
As we begin to go inwards together,
Let's start by allowing ourselves to gently settle into our seats,
Taking deeper breaths,
Almost falling into the hypnotic rhythm of our inhales and exhales,
Inhales and exhales,
Inviting in ease and gentleness,
Inviting in lightness and joy.
Do your best to continue breathing in deeply.
Deep breaths are an incredible way to move from our head space into our heart space.
A gentle and very important reminder that you cannot get this practice wrong.
It's actually an interesting practice because if you return to it tomorrow,
It will be different.
Every time you return to this practice,
It will be different.
So let's let go of getting it right or wrong.
That's impossible.
And let's see if we can open ourselves up to curiosity and maybe even being surprised by what shows up today.
Let's take a few deep breaths here together.
Breathing in,
Hold at the top of your inhale and let it go.
It's time for us to go on a little adventure together.
A little guided visualization.
I want you to imagine we are at a beautiful art gallery.
And directly in front of us,
There is a painting and above that painting is the title,
2024.
This is your past year.
The colors,
The emotions,
The ups,
The downs.
In front of you as a painting.
Before we can move on to our next canvas entitled 2025.
We want to be with this painting,
Feel this painting.
Learn from this painting.
Grow through this painting.
What do you see?
What do you feel?
And if it's hard for you to see or feel,
Take a step back,
Get some perspective.
Allow yourself to be surprised.
A very small percentage of the population will see things on this canvas.
Most of us will feel things.
Some of us will hear things and smell things.
Let go of getting excited.
It's an exercise to open us up.
It's an exercise to open us up.
To going deeper.
If your answer is no,
That's okay.
If your answer is maybe,
That's also perfectly okay.
If your answer is yes,
Guess what?
That's also okay.
You'd like to go deeper.
It's really simple.
We're gonna take a few deeper breaths.
We're gonna consciously look up and into this painting and allow it to impact us.
Allow us to feel this past year.
Can you feel your hopes and dreams?
Can you feel the love and kindness?
Can you feel the sadness and fear?
This is an opportunity to process and feel and experience things that maybe we missed.
What comes up for you when you are able to really take in this past year of life on earth as you.
Not everyone got a 2024.
But you and I did.
Taking in the energy of this past year.
Things you want to share with this year.
Words.
Any gratitude.
Any last paint strokes.
Our time with this painting is coming to an end.
It will be time to move away.
To bless and release.
So that we can step into a new canvas and a new year.
But before we do,
I want to give you some more time with this canvas.
This painting.
This year.
This is our last song today.
I'm gonna stay quiet and let you be with your heart.
Be with this painting.
Remembering that our time with this specific painting is coming to an end.
And if there are any loops you want to close.
Any words you want to share.
Any paint strokes that remain.
Now is your time.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
You made it to the end of this meditation.
And you made it to the end of this painting and this year.
Maybe you are thrilled with what you created.
Maybe you are not.
All of it is information.
And all of it is now the past.
If there's anything else you need to do to close this loop,
Close this year.
Any final conversations you need to have with this painting.
Let's do it.
So that we can step into this new canvas with deep presence.
And joy.
For those that are joining us live at the artist's morning,
I'm gonna share some journaling prompts.
Put some time on the clock and allow us to continue this conversation for just a little bit longer.
Of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
You can do the same.
Put some time on your own clock.
And see what's here and ready to be expressed through you.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name is Darius.
And I will see you next time.
