Good morning and welcome to the artist's morning.
My name is Darius and wherever you are in the world,
Whatever time it is,
Whatever is happening in your world,
I am so very grateful that we get this time together this morning.
Our practice today is going to be a little different.
In essence,
It is an I am meditation.
But you'll see that it's stripped down and that's by design.
It may feel like there are unfinished parts or open loops.
And that too is by design.
As with all of my meditations,
Everything is an invitation.
You decide how far you want to lean in or stand back.
The intention of today's practice is to connect you to the most basic and perhaps obvious of truths.
That you,
Dear artist,
Are alive.
You are alive now.
Despite it being obvious,
Sometimes we forget.
We forget how precious our existence is.
Let's begin our meditation now.
Your eyes are open.
I'd like to invite you to close them as we go inwards together.
No need for you to do anything.
Just become present to what's alive inside you now.
Perhaps there are sensations in your body,
Thoughts in your mind.
Give yourself a moment to land here.
Where does your mind go in the moments of silence,
The stillness?
There are no wrong answers here,
Just notice.
Perhaps your mind goes to your to-do list,
Things you need to do in the future.
Maybe your mind goes to the past,
Things that have already happened.
There are all of us,
There are wants,
There are needs,
There are desires,
There are dreams.
And oftentimes that's what drives our thoughts.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
With today's meditation,
I want to bring our attention to now,
To right now.
The truest I am affirmation possible is,
I am.
That's it,
Two words,
I am.
And it may be challenging for you to stay with those two words,
Your brain,
Your heart,
Might add additional words to the end and that's okay.
But see if it's possible just to stay with those two words.
See the depth,
Feel the possibilities of just those two words.
I am.
I am.
What if it was enough just to exist,
Just to be?
What if your life without any doing or being or achieving was a miracle?
Feel what comes up for you with those two words,
All answers are welcome.
Your resistance is welcome.
Your additions to those words are welcome.
I am.
I am.
I invite you to try saying it for yourself,
Either inside your heart or out loud.
I am.
What if the happiness you seeked is already here?
What if all of your wounds were already healed?
What if your breath was a divine expression?
I am.
I invite you dear artist,
To awaken any parts of you now that may have forgotten who you truly are.
I invite you dear artist,
To awaken any parts of you that are asleep and have forgotten why your soul chose to come here now.
Connecting and feeling your aliveness in this moment,
Right now.
I want to invite you to repeat that simple mantra,
Two-word mantra.
I am.
Connecting with your breath with each instance.
Feeling your life force energy.
Feeling the infinite universe that exists inside you.
I am.
I am.
I'm going to stay quiet for this last song,
Just let you explore and experience and connect with what's here now.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
Bravo dear artist,
Bravo dear creator.
Just giving yourself a moment to land here.
Wherever you went,
Whatever you felt or did not feel,
You made it to the end and for that I'm so grateful.
For those of us at the live artist morning,
I'm going to put some time on the clock and allow us to do some private personal journaling.
If you're catching us on a replay or on insight timer,
Of course you could do the same.
Put 15,
20 minutes on your clock and allow whatever is here,
Real and accessible to flow through your pen onto your paper.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and we'll see you next time.
