Welcome,
My afternoon breathers and meditators.
We are going to take a little pause in the day to practice a bit of acceptance.
So I invite you into a comfortable position,
Whether that's seated or lying down.
You may just pull the shades,
Turn out the light,
Set the distractions aside,
The phone,
The computer,
Maybe remove yourself from any large group and just create the space for yourself to breathe.
Let's relax the body in any way that we can,
Maybe closing the eyes and unclenching the jaw,
Opening the palms and relaxing the feet.
And then take a big breath with me,
Draw it in through the nose and let it go out of the mouth and we begin to tune in to the rhythm of your breath.
It doesn't have to shift or change,
Just tuning in.
Now,
A lot of times during our day,
We can feel frustrated and angry and sad and spent and overworked and overwhelmed,
But sometimes these strong emotions,
These strong feelings come because we have set in very specific expectation for the day and the universe decided otherwise.
Sometimes our sweet minds are really good at building expectation of how we think other people should act,
Of how we think things should flow,
Of how we think we should be.
And when things happen to not go that way,
There's a lot of stuff that tightens up within ourselves.
And so today we're going to practice just allowing things to be,
We're going to practice a little bit of that letting go-ness.
And we'll start just by turning the palms up and open so you can rest the backsides of hands against your thighs or the floor.
And this is an intentional act and we can feel that openness through the palms.
So what I want you to do is imagine that we can do this same up and opening with the body.
We're going to do it with the root chakra,
That area kind of down by your pelvic bowl.
Imagine that you could turn it open and we'll work our way up.
We're going to imagine that we could turn the belly open,
The energy of our exhalation and our digestive system,
Imagine that that could just open up instead of close off.
Imagine that the area by your ribs or upper belly could open up and imagine that your heart itself could turn up and open.
Let's go to the throat and imagine that the throat opens up just like the palm of your hand and then that space in between the eyebrows where we might consider the third eye,
Imagine that turning open.
And then lastly,
Let's imagine that the head,
The top of the head could turn up and open.
And just bask in that energetic shift for a moment,
Having the entire front side of your body open.
One way we can bring ourselves to that place of acceptance where we're not always fighting against the current but instead just flowing with it is to come into a space,
A state of gratitude,
A space or state of thankfulness and appreciation.
And so with all of these parts and pieces open in the body,
I want you to imagine that you could embody that frequency,
That feeling of gratitude.
Gratitude.
Thankful for this moment together.
Thankful for your body.
Thankful for your breath.
Deep gratitude for this day and just feel into that for a few moments.
Feel into that for a few breaths.
Open belly.
Keep inviting gratitude to these places.
And when we come into this place of acceptance,
It's not to say that we come to a place of apathy and no longer caring.
Acceptance has the frequency of gratitude.
It has the frequency of faith and knowing that things will be how they will be.
It doesn't pull us away from our vision or our beliefs,
Our dreams and our direction,
But instead allows our body the freedom and the space to indeed go with the flow.
So it might be that you keep this really open space on the front side of your body.
You could even stay here in your comfortable spot for as long as possible.
You might shift from this place and go back to your workings and doings and people and places with a little bit more openness in the body.
And you might find that you feel the need to close off some of these parts and that's okay too because we are always willing to be patient with the process.
Patient with the process of exploring and listening.
Patient with the process of acceptance and love.
We'll take a big deep breath together,
So big inhale through the nose.
And let it go.
Until again,
Sweet beings,
Namaste.
Thank you.
