Whatever you're experiencing right now is something of which you are aware.
There is no experience without awareness.
And so it can be said that awareness is the most fundamental thing to the experience of life.
That said,
Awareness itself is not a thing in that it has no characteristics.
It cannot be pointed to,
And yet we all experience it.
Every experience you have ever had took place within awareness.
Given that you are aware of an experience,
It can clearly be said that the experience is not you.
An easy example to make is that of the experience of a deflected state,
Such as anxiety.
When we identify with anxiety,
It can seem all-consuming.
But when we acknowledge that anxiety is an object in awareness,
This means that we must be subject.
If that anxiety is something that we notice,
It is not us.
And so if we are to identify with anything,
Much better to identify with awareness,
Which cannot be harmed by experience.
Relax into awareness.
Give yourself a break from identification with experience.
Cease the reaching out to grasp,
Or the pushing away of things.
And just experience experience as it is.
With no need to describe,
To accept,
Or to reject.
Indeed,
A moment experienced in this way is peace,
Is freedom,
Is contentment.
No need to do anything about experience.
No need to do anything to experience.
No need to renounce experience.
Just let things be in their own way,
No matter where you are,
No matter who you are.
Just relax.
