Today is the day of our mission to Mars.

Buckle up.

Are you ready?

Before we begin,

I would like you to get as comfortable as you possibly can,

Resting your body now,

Laying down,

Placing both of your hands by your sides or on your heart.

You choose.

It's important to get as relaxed as possible because we head on our mission to Mars very soon.

So,

How can you make yourself even more comfortable before we go?

Can you relax all of the muscles in your face?

Go ahead and relax your forehead.

Relax your cheeks,

Your jaw,

Your eyes,

Closing them softly.

Can you relax your chin?

How about your shoulders?

Allowing your whole body to be still and to feel heavy like rocks.

Your whole body is at peace now.

Your whole body is relaxed.

And you have nowhere to be but right here.

To prepare yourself further for our mission to Mars,

Let's take a couple of deep breaths together.

Deep breaths allow our body to feel calm and peaceful.

It feels good to be peaceful.

So let's do these together.

Inhale in through your nose for about three seconds and imagine you are smelling a beautiful rose.

And then as you exhale,

I want you to imagine like you are blowing out birthday candles.

Let's try this again.

Inhale through your nose,

Smelling that beautiful rose.

And then letting out a nice long exhale,

Blowing out your birthday candles.

Can we do one more of those?

Nice long inhale through your nose,

Smelling that beautiful rose.

And then let out a nice long exhale,

Blowing out all of the candles.

Letting it all go.

Time has come to head to Mars.

Or getting yourself ready to leave planet Earth and to explore an entirely new planet.

It takes a long time.

So you begin packing everything that you will need for about three months.

What will you pack?

What kind of food will you bring?

What about your clothes?

Which ones are you going to bring with you on your trip?

Any special toys?

What else do you think that you will need?

Once you are all packed,

You head over to the spaceship.

You are heading to Mars with three of your favorite people.

Who are you bringing with you?

Think about who you are bringing now.

Picture them in your mind.

Picture how excited they are to go with you.

Now that you are at the spaceship,

You wave hello to the lead astronaut who will be driving the spaceship to Mars.

He asks you to grab your seats and buckle up.

You all take a seat and fasten your seatbelts tightly.

We are on a special mission to Mars and I need your help,

He says.

We are heading to Mars to explore and to find 2000 Mars bars that we can bring back to Earth to hand out to other kids and families.

Are you up for the challenge?

You nod your head and feel excited to be part of such a cool mission.

He asks for your help with takeoff.

He asks you to push the red button,

Then the blue button,

And then finally the green button.

You press each of them firmly and you give him a big thumbs up when you are all done.

You start to hear a rumble.

The spaceship is now turned on and ready to take off.

3,

2,

1,

Take off.

The lead astronaut shouts.

You hold the hands of your favorite people as they are right by your side.

Up,

Up,

Up you go,

Up into the sky.

This is amazing.

You finally reach space and you take a moment to look out the window of the spaceship.

What do you see?

There are colorful planets and bright yellow stars everywhere.

You are amazed.

Finally you see a bright red planet.

You have spotted Mars.

You point it out to the lead astronaut who begins to head that way.

As you get closer and closer,

It gets bigger and bigger.

You land on this incredible red,

Bumpy planet and you take a look around.

You put on your protective astronaut suits and you head outside to explore and to complete your mission.

You have never seen anything like this in your entire life.

The ground beneath you is very bumpy and there are lots of big holes to avoid.

You walk and you walk,

Exploring and exploring.

What else do you see?

Can you walk across Mars with your favorite people and the lead astronaut?

Finally up ahead you see a big crater that seems to be full of something.

You get a little bit closer and you realize that it is full of Mars bars.

You grab some boxes from the spaceship and you start loading them up.

You count and you count and you count.

Hopefully you will be able to pick 2000 Mars bars.

After some time,

You finally pick 2000.

There are so many in these boxes.

You decide to have one for yourself.

You take a bite and you peacefully enjoy the taste of this Mars bar while walking on Mars.

This is the coolest thing you have ever done.

Mission accomplished,

The lead astronaut says.

As he high fives you,

It is time to head home.

You load the boxes into the spaceship and get inside,

Feeling so proud of yourself for completing this mission to Mars.

You can't wait to hand these out to all of the kids and families back home and tell them about your incredible adventure.

You sit back in your seat,

Buckle yourself back in,

You help the lead astronaut push all of the buttons.

The spaceship rumbles again as it gets ready to take off.

3,

2,

Take off,

Back down.

As you head back home in the spaceship,

You begin to feel very sleepy.

It was a long,

Long day.

You feel very exhausted.

You feel ready to rest as the lead astronaut brings you back home safely.

You close your eyes and rest here,

Drifting off to sleep.

You are so tired.

Slowly drifting,

Slowly drifting.

It's time for sleep.

It's time for sleep.

You feel safe to rest now.

Let your body rest.

Sweet dreams.

This is the best story ever! Boys are coming back and back to this one all the time. For some reason, they are mesmerized by it. Theyโ€™re asking if you can make more stories about other planets, they are six and three. They are too young for yoga Nidra , so, relaxation goes very naturally without intentionally mentioning it. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’•
