Welcome to this nighttime meditation that will help us to feel calm,
Peaceful,
And to sleep well tonight.
To find yourself a comfortable position,
Close those eyes or maybe put your hands over your eyes,
Whatever feels best for you.
Taking in a nice deep breath through your nose like you are smelling a flower and letting out a big exhale from your mouth like you are blowing out a birthday candle.
Letting yourself sink right into the surface that you are on and allowing your body to feel limp and relaxed.
Take in another big breath in through your nose and letting out all of the air as you exhale.
Continue breathing deeply and let your mind and body stay relaxed and calm as you imagine now that you are slowly starting to turn into a large brown sloth.
First you start to notice your arms changing into a sloth,
Getting more furry,
Getting heavier.
Then your hands,
You start to notice that your body gets furry,
Then both of your legs,
All the way down to your toes.
Then lastly,
Your head.
You have completely transformed into a large brown furry sloth.
Breaths are naturally slow and steady and this is just how you want to feel as you get ready for bed today.
Calm,
Slow,
Relaxed,
And lazy.
Imagine yourself as this sloth sitting up high in a big green bushy tree in a beautiful rain forest.
You look around and you can see all of the bright,
Beautiful colors all around you.
As you look around,
You see little monkeys and colorful birds flying among the tree tops.
The wind gently rustles the green tree tops and blows on your soft brown fur.
It's so warm and peaceful in this beautiful place.
With every breath you take,
You feel more and more relaxed.
You are so tired that you don't feel like moving at all.
You lay on this big brown branch,
Completely still,
Feeling calm and peaceful.
It's time to sleep now.
It feels so wonderful to just stay on this branch in the forest,
Knowing that you are perfectly safe and can have a peaceful sleep all through the night.
Allowing your eyes to get heavier and heavier.
Allowing yourself to drift off now into a deep,
Relaxing sleep.
