Welcome to this nighttime meditation that will help you to feel calm,
Peaceful,
And to sleep well tonight.
So get yourself into a comfortable position,
Grab a blanket,
A pillow,
Maybe a stuffy,
Gently closing your eyes or maybe even putting your hands over your eyes.
Whatever feels most relaxing for you.
Taking in a nice deep breath through your nose,
All the way in and letting out a big exhale from your mouth all the way out.
Letting yourself sink right into the surface that you are on and allowing your body to feel perfectly relaxed.
Begin breathing deeply and let your mind and body stay calm as you listen to the sound of my voice.
Imagine now that you look below you and you find that you are sitting on a beautiful rainbow colored magic carpet.
Reach down and touch the smooth texture of the brightly colored carpet.
It's so soft.
You notice two tassels at the front of the carpet that gently turn up like handles.
You hold on tight as the magic carpet starts off softly making sure that you feel safe and comfortable.
It begins to take you up into the sky,
Higher and higher,
Up to the soft white clouds.
You feel so wonderful up in the sky,
Feeling completely relaxed and peaceful.
You look down and you see the beautiful green patches below you.
You see fields and houses that look quite small from all the way up here.
You begin to let go of any worries.
Anything that may have been bothering you today starts to disappear.
Begin a big inhale now of the fresh air and let out a big exhale from your mouth.
You decide to leave any worries that you may have had today far behind as you relax and enjoy your magic carpet ride.
When you are ready to land,
You take in a nice deep breath and you gently glide your magic carpet back down on the ground of the room that you are in.
You decide to bring all of the calm and peaceful feelings back with you.
Now you can gently start to wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes,
Bringing some attention back to where we are in this room,
Bringing both of your palms together and rubbing them together to create some warmth and friction.
Whenever they feel warm enough,
Placing both of your hands over your eyes,
Spreading that warmth across your face,
Saying out loud to yourself,
I am calm,
I am relaxed,
I am ready to rest.
