This is a meditation on grief and grieving.
We will have the intention that this meditation will meet you with ease and gentleness,
But if at any time it becomes too much,
Allow yourself to step away,
Find comfort,
And return when it feels right for you.
We will walk through the energetic energy around grief and grieving.
This isn't moving on or returning to a place we can't return to.
We don't need to go into the story.
We will drop into the body to help settle,
Gain capacity,
And bring what flow is ready to return.
We have grief,
The being,
With the emotions,
The feelings.
We have grieving,
The action,
The doing.
Sometimes there is a need to be with it,
Let it rise,
Sit with it,
Feel it,
Letting it move simply by allowing it to have a presence,
The feminine energy.
Sometimes there is a need to do something,
Speak,
Share,
Light a candle,
Walk,
Find movement for the energy,
The masculine energy.
Through this awareness,
The body will begin to balance where it is ready,
No thinking required,
Letting your system adjust naturally with each breath.
Coming now to the body.
Grief often holds in the left side of the lungs or the heart centre,
Without the need for replaying the story.
Becoming aware of the energy here.
Gently connecting with the presence in this left heart centre area.
Offering soft breath to support yourself.
Noticing how this awareness is beginning to give you more space,
No need to push or adjust,
Allowing your body to settle as much or as little as it is ready in this moment.
Trusting it is doing exactly what it needs.
Continuing to stay with this energy,
Knowing you are safe and supported to feel what is rising.
For a few more moments,
No judging,
Simply observing.
Shifting your awareness now to the right heart centre and lung area.
This energy often represents grieving.
The action that we can take around the loss in our life.
The loss may be a person,
It may be something within yourself,
It may be an event,
Or even something that didn't happen.
Unlike the left side where we carry grief,
This side will often ask for movement.
Dropping into this energy and sensing if it needs action.
Staying curious and trust what comes to you.
Being gentle with yourself.
Perhaps this energy wants to write a letter,
Even if it is not sent.
This is not about finding a solution or resolve.
It is about moving the energy of grieving through action.
Perhaps it wants a daily ritual,
Even if for a while.
Noting that these actions will start to bring more capacity.
The action of this meditation is already starting that process.
Staying with this masculine energy for another moment.
Simply to connect and continuing to shift through awareness.
Bringing yourself now to the middle of your heart centre.
Softening into this space.
Noticing there is now more balance between the left and the right.
The being and the doing.
This does not mean it has to be completely aligned,
But it is shifting to more space in all areas.
Noticing as you continue to balance that the heart begins to open.
The heart begins to gain capacity again.
The heart begins to soften and grow.
You are connecting more to this softness with every breath.
You are allowing yourself to settle more into your centre again.
Feeling more rooted to yourself.
Helping you to trust more.
Helping you to breathe a little more easily.
Helping you to stay more centred.
Helping you to expand with love.
Staying with this heart energy and your breath.
Gently.
Softly.
Allowing it to spread all the way down to your belly.
Continuing to soften your system.
Allowing peacefulness to come over you.
Continuing to balance the being and the doing.
The feminine and the masculine.
Remembering it might look different each hour and each day.
Always coming back to your breath.
Always coming back to your heart.
Staying with this centre.
Staying with this expansion and flow until it feels right to rejoin your day.
Coming back slowly when you are ready.
Perhaps squeezing your hands,
Wiggling your toes,
Taking a big stretch or giving yourself a hug.
Holding your hands to your heart and your belly or wherever it feels right for you.
Giving thanks to yourself for continuing to show up today and every day.
Remembering it is a process.
Allowing yourself to be where you are at today.
Gaining a little more capacity each and every day.
