Gardening has become one of my favorite activities,

So much so that I find it increasingly difficult to hold myself back until the weather is conducive to planting.

But,

As soon as there is no longer a danger of frost,

I reach enthusiastically for my box of seeds and get ready to go to work.

Before I begin planting,

I always bless my seeds by holding the packet in my hands as I set my intentions for the next harvest.

I imagine the plants that will come from them growing tall and sturdy,

And the overall growing experience and season to be a success.

Then I go outside and plant them.

Again,

I imagine them growing as I water them.

From this point through harvest,

I talk to the seeds and the plants they produce each day,

Speaking words of kindness and encouragement to them.

I hadn't been gardening long before I realized that I can and should perform these same tasks with matters that occur in my day-to-day life,

Be it fostering relationships,

Working on a new project,

Going on a shopping outing,

Etc.

Whatever the case might be,

I approach it by setting my intentions,

Planting the seeds of my intent carefully,

And nurturing whatever I'm trying to grow.

This is so much more rewarding than just rushing into something to get it over with.

If we choose to apply a bit of mindfulness to our daily lives,

The harvest can be amazing.

I invite you to join me for a short meditation to assist in sowing seeds throughout your life.

Be seated comfortably and allow your eyes to drift closed.

As you focus on your breath,

Release any tension you might be storing in your neck and shoulders.

Allow your jaw to soften.

Take several deep breaths,

And as you do,

Focus on what you'd like to spend time cultivating.

This can be anything you choose,

A friendship,

A business project,

Anything.

Just see it in your mind's eye.

Right now,

Your vision is a packet of seeds that you're holding in your hands,

And these seeds represent the beginning of what you wish to bring about.

Mindfully place your intention into the seeds as you imagine them growing into strong,

Happy plants.

Take your time.

Once you have blessed your seeds,

See yourself planting them in fertile soil that receives plenty of sunlight.

Plant the seeds lovingly and with care.

Speak to them affectionately before watering them.

From this point forward,

See your seeds becoming robust plants.

Observe them growing as you had intended,

Doing so for the highest good of all.

Take delight in these plants.

Talk to them.

Form a relationship with them.

Recognize that whatever you choose to manifest is growing because of the energy and commitment you put into it.

May your harvest be plentiful,

My dear friend.

The crow flies from me to thee to send the message.

Blessed be.

Namaste.

Speaking words of encouragement to all, especially when times are tough, is a skill sometimes overlook when our first instinct is to blame. Just off to plant some flower seeds now, ready for a Samhain display. Thanks 🐦‍⬛ 🌕 !
