Enter this meditation in a way that's comfortable for you.
For now,
Focus only on your breath.
Allow your eyes to soften.
Feel your neck and shoulders relaxing.
Continue to concentrate on your breath.
Visualize yourself stepping into your garden.
It can be your actual garden or one that you imagine.
Sparrows are singing sweetly overhead.
Butterflies and hummingbirds float past you as you take mindful steps upon the earth.
Carrying with you a bag of seeds,
You step into a garden that's bare because it's early spring.
The light of the sun warms your face as the gentle breezes cool you at the same time.
With the bag of seeds in hand,
You pause for a moment,
Looking at and being inspired by the soil.
You know that whatever you plant will not only grow,
But it will flourish beyond your wildest dreams.
You sprinkle several of the seeds into your hand and place your intentions within them.
After your intentions are set,
You begin to plant the seeds.
You water them.
Then you step back and sit on the earth,
Knowing that the seeds you planted,
Your intentions,
Are already growing.
Continue to focus on your breath and the sounds of the birds.
The seeds you planted are sprouting before your very eyes.
They emerge speedily into the biggest and most beautiful plants you've ever imagined.
You maintain your connection with the earth by remaining seated,
Enjoying the excitement you feel while watching the plants grow larger and larger and larger.
You commune with the plants and realize that they're flourishing because of the care you gave them.
Their message to you is that you must also give that very same care to yourself.
You don't have to leave your garden as you come back from this meditation.
As you begin to open your eyes whenever you like,
Hold the image of whatever you planted in your mind's eye.
Feel the presence of whatever you planted growing with every beat of your heart.
As you offer gratitude to the sun,
Soil,
Water and seeds,
Offer that same gratitude to yourself,
For you too are flourishing most finely on this early spring day.
The crow flies from me to thee to send the message,
Blessed be.
Namaste.
