Find a position that is comfortable for you.
Perhaps this will be sitting on the floor,
So you can more easily imagine rooting into the earth.
Close your eyes.
After taking several deep breaths,
Allow any places where you might be holding tension to soften.
Your breath is slow and steady.
Take your time,
And allow yourself to become fully relaxed.
With your eyes still closed,
See yourself in nature.
You inhale deeply and welcome the sunlight.
As you notice the trees surrounding you.
As you bring this vision into your meditative practice,
I invite you to consider how nature is always changing,
Yet it remains the same.
Seasons begin and end,
And they continually begin and end in an unbroken cycle of life.
The same applies to us,
My dear friend.
I am the seed that falls each spring to become the flower of summer.
I am the thorn of the rose that freezes when the earth begins to slumber.
I am the sun's relentless rays when there is a lengthening of days.
I am the winter breeze's cold chill when all things on earth stand perfectly still.
I am constantly changing,
Yet I am changeless.
I am the rain that waters the fields.
I am present when new growth yields,
An abundance for all to taste and see.
In every form,
I am still me.
Sun of noon,
Light of moon.
From each comes my sacred boon.
May I draw from both the power to again become the spring flower that will,
At the next turn of the wheel,
Be born after winter's chill.
I am constantly changing,
Yet I am changeless.
Blessed be.
At your own pace,
Begin to open your eyes.
Invite subtle movements into your fingers and toes.
As you awaken from this rest,
Take your time and return,
Feeling well rested,
Relaxed.
The crow flies from me to thee to send the message,
Blessed be.
Namaste.
