Welcome to your practice today.
Today we will be doing a threefold compassion practice where we extend compassion first to ourselves,
Then to someone we love,
And then out into this greater expansive global community that we all share together.
No matter how you arrive here in this space,
I invite you to grow quiet with yourself.
One hand over heart,
Closing the windows of your eyes.
And whether you're sitting or lying down,
Inviting breath into body and pulling that breath all the way down to your feet.
Let's begin by grounding.
As you breathe down into your feet,
Recognize the contact that the backs of your body make with the surface that you're on today.
All the way from your feet into the backs of your legs,
Your roots,
The small of your back,
All the way up your spine,
The backs of your shoulders,
The back of your head,
And up out through your crown.
Keeping that hand over heart and starting to feel the rhythm of your heart slow down,
Working in time with your breath.
I invite you now to picture yourself standing in front of a mirror.
In that mirror,
Reflected so beautifully and naturally out to you,
Is the image of yourself.
I invite you to repeat after me these beautiful expressions of love and compassion first to yourself.
I love and accept myself fully.
I hold myself with compassion.
I treat myself with loving kindness.
I'm going to do that two more times just for good measure.
Maybe pressing your palm into your chest.
I love and accept myself fully.
I hold myself with compassion.
I treat myself with loving kindness.
And one last time,
I love and accept myself fully.
I hold myself with compassion.
I treat myself with loving kindness.
Deep breath in through your nose,
Sending it in there to your heart,
That space in your chest where your hand meets and feels the rhythm of your heart slowing down.
And as you look at that reflection in the mirror,
Starting to recognize it beginning to change to someone you have love and compassion for,
Whoever comes without being forced and saying to them,
I love and accept you fully.
I hold you with compassion.
I treat you with loving kindness.
Two more times.
I love and accept you fully.
I hold you with compassion.
I treat you with loving kindness.
And one last time.
I love and accept you fully.
I hold you with compassion.
I treat you with loving kindness.
Hand over heart,
Maybe placing your other hand on top,
Really sealing in those messages and reflecting them,
Etching them onto your heart today.
As that image in the mirror starts to change,
And you begin to recognize this beautiful community we all hold space in together.
From your heart to this community,
I love and accept you fully.
I hold you with compassion.
I treat you with loving kindness.
Again,
Two more times.
I love and accept you fully.
I hold you with compassion.
I treat you with loving kindness.
And one last time before reflecting all of that love and compassion back onto our hearts.
I love and accept you fully.
I hold you with compassion.
I treat you with loving kindness.
It's a beautiful thing to hold space in this global community that we all share together.
To come here to sit,
To breathe down into our bodies,
To place hands over heart and share in these moments together,
And to extend an amount of compassion and love first to ourselves.
If we don't hold compassion for ourselves individually,
We cannot expect to be able to extend it outward.
It starts within.
So it can be reflected without.
One last time to that beautiful,
Brilliant heart of yours.
I love and accept myself fully.
I hold myself with compassion.
I treat myself with loving kindness.
Taking a few cycles of breath here.
Allowing those messages of love and compassion to be etched on your heart today.
Before pulling that breath in through your body all the way down to your feet.
This time with the intention of waking yourself up,
Of coming back home into your body.
Bringing yourself home.
And when it feels right for you,
Opening up the windows of your eyes.
From my heart to yours,
I love and accept you fully.
I hold you with compassion.
I treat you with loving kindness.
And I extend gratitude to you for taking the time to sit with love and compassion and to extend that from your body and your breath out into this world.
