Kari here.

Are you ready?

To meditate.

With Kari.

Climb into your bed and get super,

Super comfortable.

Make sure that everything is just right in your room.

The lights are just right.

You're wearing your cozy,

Comfy pajamas.

And all is well in the world.

So that you can relax your body.

And let go of your busy.

Busy day.

Heidi Cherry Mvea.

Did not want to get up.

They were going to go to school with one of their friends.

Simon Simon.

Had invited them to open day.

And Cherry said,

OMG.

OMG,

Can you imagine it?

Can you imagine having to get up?

Like this every morning if you're a kid and you have to go to school.

Oh,

I don't want to get up.

I don't want to get up.

I don't want to get dressed.

I don't want to get up.

I want to stay in my nice warm bed.

It's so comfy.

It's so comfy today.

Why is it so comfortable?

Heidi said.

It's probably because.

We have to get up.

When you have to get up,

You don't want to get up.

But when you're left to get up on your own,

You're okay with getting up.

Like on a Saturday or on a Sunday.

Yeah,

No problem.

Maybe you can smell pancakes downstairs cooking.

Maybe bacon.

Maybe you can hear the birds singing outside and you're like,

Yay,

I can go play.

It's the weekend.

You know,

You want to get up.

But when it's Monday,

Tuesday,

Wednesday,

Thursday,

Or Friday.

And it's school that you have to get up for.

Can see why these kids don't want to get up sometimes.

Yeah.

Vea was quiet,

And then she said.

.

.

Bye.

I think I do want to get up because I have something to be very excited about.

Jerry said,

I want Jake.

Like what?

Bye.

I am going to wear.

My prettiest blue dress so that I look like I'm wearing a uniform.

When I go to Simon's school because they all have to wear navy blue uniform.

And if I wear my prettiest princess dress,

Then.

.

.

I'll look like I belong to the school.

And this dress is so cute.

It's got lots and lots of ruffles.

And it has lots of buttons down the back.

Tiny little pearl buttons.

And then on the front,

It says on the chest.

Hold up.

And I love it because everybody always reads it and they always go.

As if they're talking back to me.

And I know exactly what they've done.

They read the hola on my dress.

And you know what's even more?

Cute about this dress.

It says,

Adios.

On the back.

Hola!

Adios.

As if to say,

Hello,

Goodbye.

How cute is that?

Jerry said.

You know.

.

.

OMG,

You know why?

I think I know what's happening.

I think.

That you're excited about getting up.

And that makes it easier.

Because if you've got something to be excited about when you're getting up.

Then it's easier to get up.

Right?

Okay.

Hi,

Dad.

Talk to me.

Tell me what you're excited about as far as like today.

Because it has to be about today because we have to have a reason to get up today.

It can't be like next week,

Otherwise that's too far out.

You've got to think of something you're going to be excited about today.

No!

I just realized.

And motivating myself.

Wow.

I'm white.

I'm like one of those people that gets on stage and motivates you.

I like Tony Robbie.

Wow,

You know,

That really,

Really tall guy that looks like that guy from Jack and the Bean store.

Heidi said.

Who is Tony Robbins?

And how does he look like someone from Jack and the Beanstalk?

You know,

The giant at the top.

Tony Robbins is like 17 foot tall or something.

You've seen him.

He's on stage.

He's got really big hands.

And he's always motivating everybody.

He's very good at it.

He's very good at it,

Apparently.

But,

You know,

Like.

.

.

Yeah,

I feel like that.

Motivation this is the key to getting up for school everyone I need to phone Simon.

I'm going to tell Simon,

Simon.

Tell your friends,

Announce it to the world.

This is how you get motivated to get up in the morning.

You get excited.

It that's the secret you have to get excited to something Heidi said,

Hmm.

I am excited about the school lunch.

Simon said we could go for lunch as well after the morning performance thing.

We could go for lunch.

Cherry said.

Thank you.

I thought it was just an open day.

Faye said,

Oh no,

It is an open day,

But the kids are putting on a play in the morning,

Like a talent show.

Jerry said.

Excuse me.

Thank you.

Challenge show.

There's a talent show and you didn't tell me.

She stared at her sisters.

Her sisters looked at her as if to say,

Uh-oh.

Cherry wine.

And Heidi said,

Sorry,

I thought I told you.

Yes,

There's a talent show,

But I don't think the guests can be involved.

Have they not?

Heard of my singing.

Cherry started to sing.

La la la oh let me let me let me loosen up my voice cards la la la la la la la la la la la la Heidi and Vea looked at each other as if to say,

Oh,

No.

O M G.

Cherry's going to be singing at this show.

You bet.

You bet.

You bet.

Honey,

Said Cherry,

I found.

What?

I am motivated about.

I'm going to get up.

I'm going to wear something blue so I look like I'm wearing the uniform and no one will notice a cat singing on stage.

They'll just think it's one of the students.

And i'm gonna do my la la la song because i love that song and it suits my vocal cords so much And,

And,

Uh-oh,

I can feel a cough coming on.

Oh i hope i'm not getting sick because if i'm getting sick i'm supposed to perform supposed to perform in my school play?

Heidi said.

Cherry.

The talent show is for the kids and I don't think they're going to let you in it.

You really need to think of something else you're excited about.

Like maybe watching the kids do the talent.

No!

Cherry interrupted.

I am gonna be in that play.

I'm going to be in that play and I'm going to sing my Kylie Minogue song and I am going to probably win because once I start singing.

.

.

There's no holding back.

Heidi.

Enveja.

Rolled their eyes just a little bit.

They did that.

Everyone got up.

They got up.

Very excited about getting dressed to go to the open day with Simon.

They met Simon outside of the school gates.

Simon walked them in and signed them in at the office as his guests.

Then the first thing Cherry said was,

OMG,

Where is the performance?

Simon said that the performance started at 9 a.

M.

It was 8.

30.

They needed to go to the main hall.

Where everyone gathered.

And then.

Maybe,

Just maybe she might be able to sing.

He'd have to talk to his music teacher.

Go.

Let's go.

Let's do it.

Let's do it.

Burst through the doors.

Of the Grand Hall where everyone was going to perform.

And no one really noticed.

Everybody was busy doing this stuff.

You could hear little kids practicing.

Singing,

Dancing,

Doing different things in different corners of the room.

And then the music teacher at the front announced that everybody had to get into the positions backstage.

Cherry walked up to the music teacher.

Apparently,

She was called Mrs Shelley.

Mrs Shelley looked down at Cherry and Cherry said,

OMG,

Mrs Shelley,

It's such a pleasure to meet you.

She started by charming her.

I've heard so much about you.

You're so talented.

You're such a good teacher.

You're so wonderful.

Mr.

Shelley looked at Simon and said,

Oh,

It's this lovely little thing.

Simon said,

This is Cherry,

My friend,

And she was wondering if she could sing just a very short song.

It's not short,

Said Cherry.

Simon said,

Shh.

If she could sing a very short song as part of the performance.

Mrs.

Shelley looked down at the.

.

.

Cherry as if to say.

This is a cat.

But she didn't say that.

That's how she looked at Cherry.

And Cherry said,

But I can sing the bejesus out of anything.

Oh,

Said Miss Shelley.

That should be fantasy.

Sure.

Okay.

You can take the last slot.

If we have time for you,

We'll squeeze you in.

Otherwise,

I'm sorry.

You won't be able to sing today.

Cherry said,

Oh,

We'll make time,

We'll make time.

You'll be totally fine.

You'll definitely make time for me.

I know you will.

I know that I'll be able to squeeze in.

Cherry went backstage with all the other kids.

Simon stayed with her.

Heidi and Veja sat in the audience with.

Parents and the kids that weren't performing.

She was very excited.

Cherry was so excited backstage that she was pacing.

And it seemed like the performances just went on and on and on.

There was singing.

There was dancing.

There was some kid that played drums.

Somebody played piano.

Somebody did a magic trick.

Somebody did like this weird kind of thing with a hula hoop.

And Cherry thought,

Oh,

That was weird with the hula hoop.

But,

You know.

Kids have got different talents.

Some kid did this weird thing where he was click,

Click,

Clicking with his mouth and like pop,

Blah,

Blah,

Blah.

Yeah,

That was interesting,

She thought.

But then finally,

There was time for her and she got to go on stage and she started her song.

La la la la la.

I just can't get you out of my head.

Oh,

She was in it.

Full performance,

Guys.

Her little throat was straining with the music chords and the notes.

At one point,

She sounded a little bit like she was being strangled,

But.

.

.

She managed to pull it back.

She was on it,

Full force.

And it was.

Amazing!

When she finished,

She curtsied.

And then,

The audience roared with clatter.

Is that right?

The rod clapping.

There we go.

They clapped and clapped and clapped and clapped.

OMG,

And she was so happy.

So happy.

She bowed.

Again and curtsied.

And then at one point.

.

.

She imagined that they were throwing flowers on the stage.

Like when they do when you're ice skating and they throw them into the ring.

Definitely won this.

Cherry went backstage and then she went down the stairs behind the corner and then went to sit with her sister.

And Heidi and Vea said that she did great.

And then Simon came around and sat with them.

And then the music teacher talked a little bit about what was going to happen with the rest of the day.

And then everybody was dismissed.

And Cherry sat there and said.

What?

Michael,

What?

Where's the award?

Oh,

Said Simon.

No one wins.

Everybody just performs.

What?

Said Cherry,

Absolutely appalled.

Sure.

She didn't know what to say.

She was absolutely.

.

.

The award?

I'm sure I was the best,

Especially with that other guy that was pop.

And the one with the silly ring around her tummy,

Just swinging it around.

That's not talent.

That's exercise.

Couldn't shut up.

She was waffling on about all the reasons why she should win.

And Heidi said,

There is no winners.

Everybody just enjoys the performance,

Jerry.

Get over it.

Cherry said.

This was my motivation.

My award the flowers the bowing oh we love her so much oh she needs to be on america's got talent oh she's the bestest thing since sliced bread Nobody's going to say that if I don't get an award.

Veja said.

Maybe you should just enjoy the fact that you were so good.

How about that for motivation?

That all the kids saw you,

Everybody clapped,

Some people danced.

You made the whole room happy.

Ciao,

Iwan.

Hmm.

She liked the sound of that.

Hmm.

Yes.

Oh,

I'm Shay.

Yeah,

I do like that.

Yeah,

I do.

I like to think that I made everybody happy.

That makes me feel so good.

Yeah,

Yeah.

And the cats.

Stay the rest of the day.

And then they went home.

When they got home.

They showered off the day.

They brushed the teeth.

Like good little cats.

Because you don't want cavities.

And then they hopped into their big,

Soft,

Comfortable camp.

Snuggled into each other.

Cherry said.

I really do think I'm onto something with this motivation thing,

You know.

I know the key to being able to get up for school.

You have to think of something that you're going to be excited about the next day.

Simple as that.

Genius.

She said.

And then,

Went to sleep.

They fell fast asleep.
