Are you ready to meditate with Kori?
Make sure that you're still and you're quiet in your bed so that your body can let go of your day,
Fully relax and just soften into your comfortable warm snuggly bed.
Ellie was in her comfortable warm snuggly bed.
The latest thing that she wanted to know about all the time was mermaids.
Nana was reading her a story and then she said,
Nana,
Can you just make a story up instead?
And I said,
Of course Ellie.
Once upon a time,
A long,
Long time ago,
There was a little girl.
She was three and her name was Ellie.
Everyone called her Ellie Belly,
But her real name was Ellie.
Ellie loved to go to the ocean.
If you didn't know any better,
You would think at some point in her previous life she was a fish or a giant shark or maybe even a mermaid.
One day Ellie was at the beach with her family.
She was tickling her toes in the waves.
The water was cold and fresh,
But it felt really good because the sun was belting down on the beach and everyone was warm.
People were sunbathing,
Different people were swimming,
There were even some surfers out there in the ocean.
It was the perfect day.
When Ellie looked down at her feet as they got tickled by the water and every time a wave came up they sunk deeper into the sand.
When she kicked them out of the sand and they appeared again,
She could swear her feet just turned into a mermaid tail.
Ellie was laid in bed listening to her nana tell the story and as soon as she said that she had a mermaid tail she got very excited.
She was all wrapped up in her blanket.
She got one of her favourite teddies that she was snuggling.
She even had her comfortable pyjamas on.
Everything was good in the world and Ellie was getting a story from her nana that was about her favourite thing.
Mermaids.
Am I going to turn into a mermaid?
Said Ellie.
Just wait and see said nana.
And she carried on with the story.
Ellie looked around to see where her mum was.
She wanted to tell her mum that she had a mermaid tail.
Her mum was reading her book.
She kept checking on her and looking up and then looking back down and carrying on reading her book.
Ellie thought maybe she'd tell her in a minute.
She wanted to see if the rest of her body turned into a mermaid.
Ellie was a very good swimmer of course.
If you can't swim then it would have been very dangerous for Ellie to be standing by the ocean all on her own especially when she was three years old.
Ellie agreed as she nodded,
Laid in bed listening to her nana tell a story.
But because Ellie was a very good swimmer she was safe in the water.
Ellie sat down on the water's edge and the waves and the water splashed up onto her legs and her legs turned into a mermaid tail.
Then the waves come a little bit higher around her hips and her lower back and the mermaid tail went all the way up and then she laid down on her back and the water came all the way up tickled inside of her ears.
She shook her head and her hair grew.
It was long and thick and very curly.
She looked down and she had shells covering her little ninnies and they were shaped just like a bikini top.
She was a mermaid.
All of her had turned into a mermaid.
When she looked down at her hands her fingernails were pearlescent like her fingernails were made of pearls from the sea.
She had shells in her hair and little starfish.
She was so beautiful.
Ellie the mermaid turned around,
Shuffled down deeper into the water and decided to just go for a little adventure.
She could breathe under the water.
Ellie said,
Of course she can Nana,
She's a mermaid.
Nana carried on with the story.
She went deeper and deeper and further and further out away from the sand.
She started to see lots of fishes swimming here,
There and everywhere and they were all different colors.
It was like seeing the rainbow but the rainbow was in the ocean.
The corals were all different colors.
One of the corals that she passed caught her eye in particular.
She swam down deep into the depths of the ocean.
She was such a good swimmer.
When she got to the coral that she liked it was an orangey color and the sun was shining through the water and it was reflecting on it so it looked like parts of it were gold and orange.
For some reason she knew she needed to taste the coral.
When she tasted it,
It tasted like peanut butter.
Ellie started giggling in bed.
You know I like peanut butter Nana,
That's so funny.
I didn't think mermaids like peanut butter.
Oh yes they do,
Said Ellie's Nana.
She carried on with the story.
But Ellie the mermaid didn't realize,
Ellie said Nana can I be an enchanted mermaid?
Nana said yes of course.
What Ellie the enchanted mermaid didn't realize was when she ate the peanut butter flavored coral it gave her turbo powers.
As soon as she swallowed the coral and it hit her tiny little mermaid tummy she sped off like full blast.
Faster than a whale,
Faster than a dolphin,
Faster than a great white shark,
Faster than anything in the ocean.
It was like watching a navy torpedo or something like that bursting through the waters.
That's what peanut butter,
Coral peanut butter does for you.
Crazy eh?
Ellie said wow that's crazy Nana,
How fast was I going?
Oh so fast,
So fast that all the shells were blowing out of your hair,
The little tiny starfish that you had in your hair that looked so cute gone,
The shells gone.
You were like the speed of light.
And then something else caught your eye.
It looked like a particular type of bush but the bush was under the ocean,
Wasn't coral.
It was like a plant and it had long reefs and the reefs were moving with the waves and the motion of the water down at the bottom of the ocean.
It caught your eye because there was something very colorful inside of the reefs.
As you got closer and closer and closer you noticed another little mermaid.
This little mermaid was called Ashley.
Ellie smiled the biggest smile.
I love Ashley,
She's my bestest friend,
She's like my sister.
She wasn't actually a sister in real life but Ellie loved her very much and she wanted her to be a big sister.
Ashley was six so she was definitely like a big sister.
When she swam out of the water they hugged each other and span and did spirals and swirls and twirls.
They twisted and played and swam just like mermaids would,
Real mermaids would.
They went on all different adventures together.
Ashley showed her all different types of coral that were all different flavors.
They ate and ate and ate until their tummies got really big and full until eventually Ashley took her to her favorite place of hers.
It was the spongy corals and when you laid down on them they were like really big soft fluffy mattresses.
They laid down on the corals and started to relax their mermaid bodies.
It had been a long day.
Swimming under the ocean was very tiring thought Ellie Belly.
Ellie was getting sleepy in bed listening to her nana tell the story.
Her eyes started to look a little bit heavy.
And when she blinked they were slow,
Getting slower and slower as if she couldn't keep her eyelids open anymore.
She turned a little bit onto her side and snuggled her head deeper into the pillow.
But she looked like she was still listening to the story until nana started to do her magic voice.
Ashley and Ellie were so comfortable.
Ellie closed her eyes.
They'd been so busy swimming and playing,
Having so much fun together.
It was now definitely time.
Time to rest.
Time to relax.
Time to let go of their busy busy day.
The spongy coral wrapped around their mermaid bodies as if you were laying on a marshmallow.
So soft and comfortable.
It was hard not to fall asleep.
The movement of the water was swaying them backwards and forwards and side to side,
Gently rocking them deeper and deeper into a really nice mermaid sleep.
All was well in Ellie's world.
And after not too long at all,
Ellie the enchanted mermaid fell fast asleep.
The end.
