Welcome,
My name is Cori.
Let's lie down in bed and get really comfortable.
Make sure that your covers are just right and you're wearing comfortable clothing so that you can fully relax while you listen to the meditation.
Hopefully,
Eventually,
You'll fall fast asleep.
Once you're settled and you feel like your body is comfortable,
Close down your eyes so that you can really start the process of letting go of your day.
With your eyes closed,
Take a very slow inhale and as you breathe in,
Feel your breath coming into your body.
Breathe out nice and slow and release your breath gently and evenly.
Imagine that your breath is sweeping through your body.
So as you breathe in nice and slow,
Imagine your breath is bringing in a cleansing sweeping property,
Sweeping through the inside of your body.
And as you breathe out,
You release and let go,
Breathing in and feeling the sweeping breath moving down into your lungs,
Into your lungs,
Down into your tummy.
Feel it sweeping in a downward motion.
Feel it sweeping down over and through your arms,
Towards your hands.
Next breath,
Again,
Feel it sweeping down through your chest,
Your abdomen,
Down into your hips.
The next breath,
Bring it in and feel it sweeping down the back of your head,
The back of your shoulders,
Down to the base of your spine.
Imagine in your mind that each breath you're bringing in,
You're welcoming into your body,
Is sweeping down,
All the way down,
Eventually to your toes.
If you can envision it in your mind's eye,
See your breath falling through the different parts of your body,
Falling down over your shoulders,
Falling down your arm,
Falling down your back and the sides of your body.
Imagine your breath falling as if it's falling from above your head,
Falling down over your face,
Falling down the back of your head.
And as it falls through all the different parts of your body,
Remember every time you breathe out,
You're releasing.
You're releasing any tension,
You're releasing any old stagnant feelings in your body.
Let your breath sweep throughout your entire body and cleanse and release all that doesn't serve you.
Once you've gone through your entire being,
See if you can just feel into your whole body again,
Laying there on the bed.
See if you can be present in your whole being,
The overall sensation of what it feels like to just lay on the bed,
Be supported underneath your body.
See if you can really allow yourself to take this time to be supported,
Both physically and metaphorically.
So starting with your feet,
I want you to take all of your focus and attention down into your feet and see if you can feel the weight of your feet,
The density and the fullness that's present there in your feet.
It may help to breathe down into that space.
And once you feel the weight of your feet,
Imagine all that weight is kind of sinking into the back of your heels and the back part of your feet that's touching the bed.
Imagine the bed now holding and supporting that weight and you're letting your feet be as heavy as they possibly can,
As if you're pushing down slightly even into the bed,
Pushing your full entire weight there in your feet and allowing yourself to be held right there.
And then slowly moving up into your ankles and the backs of your calf muscles,
Feeling that connection to the bed in the back of your lower legs.
Imagine the muscles and the bones,
All of the weight of your lower leg is being supported,
Even though it's fully relaxed and very heavy,
It's being held underneath by the bed.
Move up in your mind,
Past your knees,
Up into your thighs,
The back of your hips,
Your bum,
Feel that area of your body,
All the weight of your thighs and your hips.
And imagine that you're pushing down a little bit on the exhale of your breath,
Pushing the weight and the heaviness,
Your feet,
The lower legs,
Your upper legs,
Just let them get as heavy as they possibly can.
And yet the bed is still supporting you,
Still holding you safe.
Let your legs be as heavy as they can possibly be.
Feel your hands,
The palm of your hands,
Your wrists,
Your arms,
Resting on the bed.
And on your next big exhale,
See if you can push the weight of your arms into the mattress.
Let them be as heavy as they can possibly be.
So,
So heavy.
Yet the bed is happily supporting you.
It's carrying you.
Just let your arms get heavy.
Feel your lower back,
Let the middle of your back and the top of your back sink deep into the mattress.
Breathe out and push back.
Let the whole weight of your torso rest onto the bed,
Pushing all of the heaviness into the mattress.
Feeling the back of your shoulders resting deeply into the softness of your bed.
And your bed is right there carrying you,
Holding you,
Fully supporting you.
Feel again,
The weight of your feet,
The back of your legs,
Push down with your hips,
Your lower back,
Your middle back,
Your upper back,
All across your shoulders.
Push all the way down your arms.
Let your whole body from the neck down be as down,
Be as heavy as it possibly can.
So,
So heavy and comfortable.
Every time you breathe out,
You seem to get heavier and deeper,
Deeper and deeper into the mattress.
Take your next big breath in and as you exhale,
Pleatly push down the back of your head.
The whole weight of your head pushing down,
Fully,
Fully relaxing into your pillow.
Let yourself be as heavy as you've ever let yourself be.
So dense and heavy and yet the bed is still carrying and supporting you completely.
You're 100% supported,
Safe,
Relaxed and comfortable in your bed.
Notice every time you breathe in,
The breath sweeps through your entire body.
And every time you breathe out,
You sink deeper and deeper into your bed.
Namaste my friend,
Sweet dreams.
