Are you ready to meditate with Kori?
Try and be very very still in your bed.
Close your eyes if it feels right for you so that you can start to relax your body.
You've probably had a very very busy day running and playing,
Doing whatever you've been doing.
Now it's time though to let your body relax,
To let your mind slow down and get all snuggly in bed.
It had been raining outside for days and days and days.
One afternoon the biggest,
Brightest rainbow appeared in the sky.
The colors were so perfect.
It seemed to just consume the whole sky.
It was like the biggest rainbow you've ever ever seen.
It was bright and shiny and very happy looking.
There happened to be one dark cloud left in the sky,
A rain cloud that looked very dull and dark and miserable.
The rain cloud was staring at the rainbow with so much envy inside.
Oh I wish I could be a rainbow.
In fact the dark cloud wanted to eat anything but a dark cloud.
It would stare down below and say oh I wish I was a tree.
Oh I wish I was that bunny rabbit.
Oh I'd love to be that little girl running down there.
Oh I'd even be a worm.
I'd love to be a worm rummaging through the soil.
You see the problem was the dark cloud didn't see any of its own potential.
Dark clouds are full of rain and rain is super important for the earth.
The dark cloud didn't realize that everything down below wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for the dark cloud.
It didn't see any of its good qualities.
Just like us sometimes.
We never seem to see the good stuff do we?
We always see the bad stuff and think oh if only I was this and if only I was that and if only my world was different.
If only I was bigger and better and.
.
.
We just never see the good.
Well that's exactly what the dark cloud was doing.
The rainbow overheard the dark cloud's thoughts.
Tell me your wishes the rainbow said.
I'm known to listen to everyone's wishes.
Didn't you know rainbow wishes always come true?
At first the dark cloud looked very surprised.
Oh oh no I didn't know that.
Yes said the rainbow.
Tell me your wishes.
The dark cloud thought about it for a moment.
There were so many.
He spent all day thinking about being something else.
Which one would he say?
Which one was most important?
Can I tell you more than one?
He said.
The rainbow said yes of course.
Well in that case erm I'd like to be brighter said the rain cloud.
Let me share with you something said the rainbow.
To be brighter you simply have to see yourself brighter.
What?
Said the rain cloud.
How do I do that?
You see it.
If you want to be taller you see yourself taller.
If you want to be smaller you see yourself smaller.
What you see in your mind is very powerful and one day it will manifest into your reality.
So if you want to be a brighter rain cloud just see yourself brighter.
Oh okay said the rain cloud.
What about this one?
I want to be stronger.
The rainbow said well that one's easy.
Just move around.
Move your muscles.
Be more active.
You'll definitely get stronger.
Just sitting there feeling sorry for yourself will definitely not make you get stronger.
Then the movement will make your muscles grow.
Oh said the dark cloud.
That makes so much sense.
Okay well what about this one?
I want I want I want to be smarter.
Oh said the rainbow.
This wish is fun.
To be smarter you have to exercise your brain.
Oh how do I do that?
Said the rain cloud.
You read or you listen to things that make you more educated.
Reading reading reading makes you learn all these new things in the world.
And the more you read the smarter you get and the smarter you get the better your brain is and the more active your brain is you'll get even smarter without even trying.
Just read and listen and look and learn.
Oh okay well I have another one.
I have another one.
What about this one?
I want to be brave.
Said the rain cloud.
Oh said the rainbow.
This one's a little bit more challenging but I'm sure you're capable.
To be brave you have to try new things.
If you never try new things you never know what you're capable of.
Sometimes though it doesn't always go to plan and things might go wrong and you might not get things right.
Trying things is risky for the first time because it might go wrong and then you'll think oh no I failed.
I must not be good at this.
But that's where bravery comes in.
You try again and you try again and you try again until eventually whatever you try you get good at.
You have to be brave though to try.
It's not very brave when you just give up.
That's not bravery.
Bravery is when you take on something that scares you a little bit.
Maybe something new,
Something challenging,
Something that frightens you inside.
But guess what?
The more that you do that the more you start to feel brave and the braver you get the more fun it is to try new things.
And then when it's fun it's not scary anymore.
And when it's not scary you help other people get brave.
You encourage other people,
Other clouds,
Other animals,
Whatever it is.
You encourage them and then they get brave.
So to be brave you have to try new things.
I can do that said the rain cloud.
I try and make different shapes with my cloud all the time.
I think I can be more brave.
I'm sure you can.
I have another one.
I think this is my hardest one because I'm so so dark and I'm so so rainy and no one ever seems happy to see me and I'm always gloomy and I want.
.
.
This is my most important wish.
I want to be happier.
Oh that one said the rainbow.
This one's my favorite.
To be happier you have to be grateful.
That doesn't make any sense said the rain cloud.
Think about it said the rainbow.
When you're grateful for all of the good things in your life.
When you're grateful for the sky.
When you're grateful for the stars.
When you're grateful for the sun.
When you're grateful for the fact that you can rain and help the grass to grow.
Your water fills the rivers.
Your water helps the oceans.
You do so many good things that you can be grateful for.
When you see all the good in the world and all the things that you already have.
It automatically makes you happy.
Gratitude is always there when it comes to happiness.
You can't feel happy unless you're grateful for the happiness.
Can you?
Oh I see it said the rain cloud.
That's so smart.
The rainbow said.
Wow I do read lots of books.
The rainbow shone brighter and brighter and seemed to pull up higher into the sky as if it was off to help all the other things.
Making wishes out there in the world.
The rain cloud was left with lots to think about.
But it was excited inside.
He had solutions for the things that he wanted in the world.
The things he wanted to change about himself.
Now he knew how to do it.
To get brighter he had to see it.
To get stronger he had to move his muscles.
To get smarter he had to read.
To get braver he had to try new things.
And finally to be happier he had to be grateful.
Pretty cool he thought.
That rainbow really does know what she's talking about.
The end.
