
Powerful Morning Meditation
Wake up and lift off the sluggish feeling with this powerful morning sunshine meditation. Do this practice each morning to energize your body and mind to prepare you for an amazing day!

Good morning,
My name is Kori.
Let's sit down and do this morning meditation together.
Settle into a really comfortable seated position.
You're probably still feeling that layer of sleepiness in your body that's totally okay.
But be aware that that layer of sleepiness feels a little bit heavy.
As if all of your senses have not quite woken up yet and everything is just dulled slightly.
You're not springy and bouncy and wide awake.
You're just awake.
Make sure that your spine is nice and straight.
Relax your jaw down slightly towards your chest.
Move your shoulders down away from your ears,
Lengthening the space between your ears and your shoulders.
Take a nice big deep breath in for me.
And then as you breathe out close down your eyes.
Did you notice with closing your eyes down on the exhale a feeling of going inside,
Of dropping in?
Let's do that again together.
Just open your eyes for me and then take a nice big deep breath.
As if you're really really breathing deep,
Big and exaggerated and loud.
A nice big deep breath and then on the big exhale close down your eyes.
And allow yourself to feel as if you're withdrawing in,
Pulling in,
Ready for your meditation.
So something as simple as a big deep breath and then closing your eyes down on the exhale could be like an automatic,
This is the beginning of my meditation,
This is how you could start every time.
That feeling of pulling inside.
And now that you're inside,
Let's start to become aware of your body.
But first allow yourself to just feel all of it all at once.
All the different sensations coming to you.
Your overall feeling of your body,
What does it feel like?
And then start to pinpoint more specifically different parts of your body.
So tuning into your intuitive self,
Allow your intuition to pull you,
Direct you into different parts of your body.
Maybe you get pulled into your sit bones or the top of your head or your fingertips,
Just sit with it with me.
And allow your intuition to take you to different parts of your body and just flow.
Don't resist,
Just flow with wherever it takes you.
Each time your mind takes you to a different part of your body,
See if you can breathe ease into that part of your body.
Just find a nice gentle rhythm with your breath.
But imagine that you're taking your breath into those different parts of your body.
And as your breath gently falls on that part,
Imagine it brings a sense of comfort and ease.
As if it's relaxing and softening that part of your body.
When you start to feel as if the momentum of that is slowing down,
Like your mind is not taking you anywhere in particular anymore,
Go back to feeling the overall sense of what your body feels like now.
See if you can monitor how relaxed you feel,
How heavy you feel.
Some people wake up and instantly feel wide awake.
I think most of us wake up and feel that layer of heaviness for a while until we start to fully grab a hold of our day.
If you feel that layer of heaviness as you sit now in your meditation,
Let's do a simple practice to start to remove the layer to fully prepare you for the day so that you feel wide awake and energized.
Imagine in your mind that maybe you have this beautiful house and you always meditate out there on a balcony that's surrounded by trees and the sky is always perfect just the way that you like the sky.
Maybe the house is in the country somewhere or it's set on the beach but it's quiet and peaceful.
You're either listening to the waves or you listen to the trees rustling with the wind.
Wherever you put yourself in your mind,
It's perfect for you.
Let go of what's on the level around you and just focus on the sky.
So we're all going to be looking at the same thing.
We're looking at the sky and then I want you to start to focus on the sun particularly.
It's that good kind of sun that you can stare at.
It's not too bright right now.
This is first thing in the morning so the sun is starting to wake up too just like you.
Imagine that you're waking up with the sun and the golden haze that's coming down through the sky.
It's pouring down on you physically and energetically and if you focus just purely on your face with your eyes open staring at the sun,
You can just barely feel the warmth starting to pour down on you.
You can feel it on your cheeks and your forehead and subconsciously you rise in your seated position stretching your spine longer facing your face and your head closer and nearer to the sun like a flower starting to drink in the sun rays first thing in the morning.
Focus on your shoulders and your chest.
Feel the heat starting to pour down on you on the sun that's getting brighter and brighter each minute.
Allow the sun to start to penetrate into your being.
So imagine it filtering through your skin.
The golden rays filtering into your muscles.
Sinking deeper and soaking even closer down towards your bones.
See in your mind that the golden light is filling every single cell.
Imagine the light is very energizing.
It has a lot of life force in it and that energy is starting to filter through your epidermis deep into the core of you.
Try and associate that feeling with a tingling sensation.
Really really focus on your face and see if you can feel the tingling sensation of the sun coming into your body.
The energy of that light coming into your body starting to really wake you up.
You're being charged by the sun.
See if you can feel the tingling sensation in your hands.
Feel the tingling sensation across your shoulders and your chest.
Deep into your heart center.
Minute by minute,
Second by second,
You're really starting to lift that heaviness.
You can feel your body filling up as if you've had a drink of energy and you've been really thirsty and dry and now it's running and flowing through your blood and your veins.
Make sure that you can feel the tingling sensation all the way down into your feet and your toes.
You can feel it in your hands.
You can feel it in your chest.
You get a sense that you're almost fully charged.
Just a few more moments.
And then you can feel it.
You're like this walking ball of sunlight,
Energized,
Completely awake,
Renewed and ready for your day.
Like a powerhouse.
Ready to take on anything.
And so it is.
