Are you ready to meditate with Kari?
Make sure that you're all comfortable and snug and warm in your bed.
Take a nice,
Big,
Deep breath in for me.
Breathe all the way down into your tummy.
Breathe out and see if you can relax your body.
It's time to let go of your busy,
Busy day.
Time to let go of all of your worries and stresses.
You don't have to be doing homework,
You don't have to worry about school.
No responsibilities other than feeling good right now in your body so that you can have a good night's sleep.
First of all,
Just check around your room and make sure that you know that you're nice and safe.
You have a room that's cozy and comfortable.
You have a bed that's soft and warm.
You have a pillow underneath your head that feels nice and soft.
Everyone is probably either downstairs or already in bed themselves.
You might be alone in your bedroom but you're not far away from people that you love that are right there in the house.
So know that you're safe and you can relax.
If you're not underneath the covers already,
Make sure that you're laid underneath your covers in bed.
There's many places that you could be right now.
Many ways that you can play with your imagination,
Create things in your mind.
If you wanted to,
You could imagine that your bed is like a boat in the middle of the ocean and the floor all around your bed is the water.
You could be the captain of the ship and everyone on board is a puppy and you're in charge of everyone and all the little puppies have different jobs and different responsibilities and they're all so super cute.
You're a captain of a puppy crew sailing in the middle of the ocean.
Your bed could be a tree house in the middle of the forest and you're looking out all around the trees looking for those naughty monkeys,
The ones that try and come and pinch your socks when you're not looking.
The thing is,
You have a thing about socks.
You love socks.
You have over a hundred pair of socks.
That was until those monkeys decided that they loved socks too.
Apparently,
Your socks have magical powers and it helps the monkeys swing from trees to trees so much quicker and faster.
Word got around about your magical socks and now every monkey in the forest,
In that tropical forest,
Wants to steal your socks.
You have to constantly keep a lookout.
That would just be crazy.
Your bed could be a spaceship.
You're on a mission flying through the cosmos looking for that one purple alien.
Every single planet that you've landed on,
They've all either been green or grey or black.
On one of the planets that you visited,
You found a very special book and inside that book,
It talked about the alien race that was purple.
The alien race is called the auberginos and the auberginos are all purple.
They taste like grapes.
Yes,
Grapes.
But they only let people that they like give them a hug and a little lick.
Apparently,
If you lick a purple alien,
You will be rich forever.
Did you know that?
So there you are on your spaceship,
Out there in the middle of space,
Looking for the alien race that's purple,
That tastes like grapes,
If they like you and they let you lick them,
That is.
And then,
If you lick them,
You'll be rich for the rest of your life.
So bizarre.
Maybe your bed is a cave,
Deep,
Deep,
Deep inside,
Underground.
You found the special cave where a very special plant lives.
It grows on the walls of the cave.
The special plant only grows here,
But you've done tests on it because you're a magnificent chemist.
And through all of your scientific research,
You've discovered that this plant can give off enough oxygen to feed the entire world.
That is,
If the sun decided not to show its face anymore and all we ever saw was darkness.
All the plants that grow on the planet need the sunlight,
But not this one.
In this cave,
Deep,
Deep,
Deep underground,
Where you're doing all your scientific tests,
If you can bring this plant and allow it to survive up on the surface of the planet,
You would be an absolute hero.
You'd save the world and everything that lives on it.
That would be pretty darn cool.
What if your bed was that cave,
Right?
What if your bed was like a tiny little snowflake,
Being blown through the sky in the middle of a snow blizzard?
And every other snowflake falling next to you in the sky had a kid sat on a bed just like you.
Tiny tiny little children on tiny tiny little beds.
Billions and trillions of you falling from the sky and all the other people in the world just think it's normal snow.
They don't take the time to actually let one of the snowflakes land on their hands so they could see you waving up at them.
Shouting,
Hello,
I'm a snowflake.
Pay attention to me.
But no,
They don't.
They just go about their business,
Stepping on all of that snow,
Letting it melt on their cars,
Being upset about the cold.
Little do they know each and every one of those snowflakes could be a bed with you in it,
Flying around the sky.
Your bed could be like the inside of a kangaroo's pouch.
And you're jumping around all over in the outback and it's so hot and sweaty.
And there next to you is a little joey bouncing around with you.
A tiny little baby kangaroo.
You peek your head up over the top of your mum's pouch and the bird's eye view that you get of being jumping around all over as your mum,
The kangaroo,
Is being chased by something big and crazy that wants to eat it.
It's bouncing all over the place.
That bed would be a very bouncy bed to jump on.
The springs would be amazing.
It would be crazy if your bed was like a kangaroo pouch.
My point is you can use your imagination to make the bed that you're laying in right now a very magical place.
If you were to close your eyes and think about it,
What would you turn your bed into?
Where would you go?
What would you be?
What would you do?
As you let your body relax and slow down,
Let your mind play.
Soften your muscles.
Relax your bones.
Let your whole body get heavy and sleepy.
Where would you go on your bed if your mind was the only thing stopping you?
Where would you go and what would you be if you let your mind open up to the endless possibilities?
Let your body fall asleep as you let your mind drift off into another time and place.
The end.
