
Letting Go Of Sadness - Guided Meditation
Let this simple, relaxed style meditation guide you to a place where you can let go of sadness. It doesn't have to be complicated. It doesn't have to be hard. Just let it go, you are safe, just let it go.

Hi,
My name is Corrie.
Let's see if we can let go of some sadness together.
This is not necessarily your typical meditation.
So that means you don't have to sit or lie down in a typical way.
Why don't you grab a hold of a big snuggly cuddly blanket.
Wrap yourself inside.
You can listen and sit on the couch,
Lay on your bed wherever you want to.
Just pull your knees up towards your chest.
Maybe lay on your side as if you're laying in a fetal position,
Almost giving yourself a hug.
Close your eyes.
Just breathe.
Take a breath in and breathe out.
Just feel your breath.
Feel the air moving into your body.
Feel the release when you let it go.
Try not to think about anything else right now.
Just feel your breath coming in to your being,
And then being released.
What if everything in life could be this simple?
Just breathing in and breathing out.
What if we could just accept everything like we accept the breath with no question and then as easily as that we just let it go.
We breathe it out and it no longer serves us.
When something doesn't feel positive anymore.
Yet there's many things that we hold inside that hurt.
Our heart carries lots of memories,
Wounds from the past,
Pain that you can physically feel in your chest.
It feels heavy.
It makes your chest feel tight.
What if we could just let it go?
Doesn't matter what the root of your sadness is.
Right now it's not important.
The reason that you are sad is not important.
What is important is the need to release it.
The need to let it go.
You don't have to keep carrying the sadness.
Let's work with your imagination and just play for a moment.
Create in your mind a peaceful place that you could go.
Imagine that you're there right now.
Maybe it's sat in front of a warm fireplace.
The beach,
The woods,
Maybe a secret garden somewhere full of flowers.
Go somewhere in your mind that feels right for you.
Wherever you are,
Sit down.
Imagine that in front of you there's a wooden box shaped like a heart.
The box has very ornate carvings.
It's a beautiful box.
It looks like a jewelry box or something with treasure inside.
You don't open it yet.
You just look at the box there in front of you.
This box has been brought to you by something higher than who you are.
Sent to you from source,
Maybe your higher self,
Your friends,
Guides,
Angels,
Whatever your heart believes in.
Just imagine that this box has been brought to you to help you to heal.
Gift from the other side.
Place either your left or your right hand on your physical heart.
Just hold it.
Feel the warmth of your skin.
Maybe you can feel your heart beating in your hand.
Then feel the warmth of your fingers,
The pulse coming into your heart and your body.
Set your intentions.
Focus on your physical heart and imagine that your hand can literally pull out all of the sadness that you're holding.
Imagine that your hand is starting to just pull away big handfuls of sadness and it's going to place them in the wooden box there in front of you.
You can open the box with your other hand and see in your mind your hand filling up with sadness.
Maybe it looks like dark energy that you're pulling out of your chest.
Maybe it's like dark tar or taffy.
Imagine that you can do this.
You are setting the intention to remove all the sadness from your heart.
You're placing it handful after handful in the wooden box.
Every time you pull the energy out of your heart,
See if you can just take a big breath out at the same time.
Like you're releasing.
You're breathing it out.
You're pulling it out.
Letting go.
You don't have to have a reason why.
You don't have to know what it is.
You're just emptying this heavy load that you've been carrying.
It's time to be freer.
It's time to feel lighter.
Breathe it out.
Just notice how good it feels.
Notice how your shoulders drop.
Notice how you feel like you can breathe deeper.
Like your chest is opening and expanding.
Your heart feels lighter.
Well open.
You can feel the tension releasing from your jaw.
Whole body's starting to feel lighter.
Calmer.
Just happier.
Just keep removing it.
Keep imagining in your mind.
You're pulling it out and putting it in the box.
Pulling it out.
Putting it in the box.
Over and over until you feel like it's complete.
You're doing such a good job.
Just let go of that sadness.
Let go of the pain.
The weight.
You start to feel a smile.
Just a very slight smile on your face.
You know you're doing something that's good for you.
You know that you deserve it.
In fact,
Why have you waited so long?
Why have you let the sadness control you?
Why have you let the sadness control you?
No more.
No more.
When you feel like the process is complete,
Just squeeze your knees into your chest.
Give yourself a big,
Long hug.
You did it.
Allow that smile to get bigger on your face.
You did it.
You did such a good job.
No more being sad.
It's time for happiness.
Time for a new you.

This is a really great ‘letting go’ meditation! Cory doesn’t make you think about the oppressive memories like a lot of them do. You just let go of the negative feelings they inspire. I’d like one about anger too.
