My name is Corrie and I'm a therapist and spiritual teacher and I've been practicing for over 20 years now.
Hopefully there's a little bit of light in there and a little bit of wisdom that I can share with you.
So if you'd like to make sure that your spine is nice and straight.
Close down your eyes,
Start to settle in,
Check with your body and make sure everything is comfortable.
And then try and come to complete stillness.
So the only thing that is currently moving in your body is the subtle movements that your breath creates.
Actually it feels really nice to get quiet and still.
For those of you that are still sleepy this morning,
It's like we're falling back into that cloud of sleep again.
And for those of you that are wide awake,
Just try and bring yourself back into a peaceful kind of floaty,
Quiet space.
Take your focus and attention down into your feet for me.
Depending on the way that you're sat,
Maybe your feet are under your legs,
Maybe you're seated on a chair.
Just try and feel the outside at this moment,
Try and connect to the outside of your feet.
So if there's any skin exposed on your feet,
If you're barefoot,
Just feel the air,
Feel the temperature around your feet.
If there's anything touching your feet,
Like parts of your chair,
Just connect to that sensation and what that feels like on the outside of your feet.
And then pull inwards and feel the inside of your feet.
Imagine that you're in that space yourself and you can feel maybe the slightest sensation of blood flow,
Energy,
Maybe tingling.
Using your imagination,
Let's just play for a little bit to get really grounded.
Imagine that you've been to the gardening shop,
The gardening center,
You bought yourself a bag of potting soil and it's that rich,
Dark kind of soil that smells super yummy.
And you're outside in your garden and you put the soil down on the ground and open the bag and pour some of the soil someplace in your garden where you need it.
And if you're wearing your shoes,
Kick off your socks and your shoes and just kind of start to munch as if you're pressing grapes.
Just munch your feet in that soil,
See if you can do that for me.
Feel super soft.
You can feel it going through your toes and it's dark and rich and minerally.
And you can smell it.
You're getting super grounded with this rich,
Minerally,
Deep,
Dark soil.
And then if you can just stand still and just feel it on your feet.
You can smell it.
You can feel it.
See yourself in your mind sitting down so that your feet are still in the soil,
But you get nice and comfy.
Maybe your bum,
Your butt is in the soil.
And we're grounding those butt cheeks just as much as we are the feet.
But as you sit down and relax in the soil,
Now you can put your hands out and just kind of run your hands gently over the surface of this dark dirt.
And then you can pick it up and squeeze it.
Really feel it in your fingers and in your hands.
Squeeze it into balls.
Or let it slide through your fingers like sand.
And now that you're lower and closer to the ground,
You can really smell that soil smell.
Smells earthy and clean.
You can carry on playing with the soil with your hands or you can let it go and just bring yourself into a deeper sense of focus,
A deeper state of focus and close down your eyes.
As you sit there in the soil,
Start to imagine that you're like a seed that's cracking open and starting to send roots down deep into the earth.
Your feet have got all these little roots growing off them.
Going down into the soil,
The base of your spine.
It's got roots growing down.
Bigger,
Stronger,
Thicker roots coming down from your spine,
Down into the soil.
And it's digging its way through and the roots are finding themselves going deeper and deeper.
Take nice,
Long,
Slow,
Deep breaths at this point and see if you can really visualize this extension of yourself digging deeper into the earth.
Every time you breathe in,
Take a nice,
Big,
Deep breath in.
Bring it in some relaxation,
Some peace.
And every time you breathe out,
Imagine that you're using your breath to help to push your roots down into the earth.
Always use your breath.
Breathe in the relaxation and as you breathe out,
Push your roots lower,
Deeper into the soil.
Traveling deeper through layers of sand,
Through layers of rock,
Through layers of clay.
Going deeper and deeper.
And the more deep you visualize your roots to get,
The more you feel a lock,
Like a pulling,
An anchor at the base of your spine and the soles of your feet.
As if they're sticking,
Suctioned to the earth.
Feel the energy going up your spine.
Feel that grounding sensation,
That solidity,
That vibration that's coming from Mother Earth.
See if you can pull that up your spine.
Visualize watching the energy moving up through the different chakras in your spine,
The middle of your center.
Moving up.
Pull it up past your abdomen.
See if you can pull it up into the chest,
All the way eventually up to the top of the head.
Pull that earth,
That balancing,
Grounding,
Vibrant life force that comes from the earth.
See if you could pull that up your spine,
All the way to your crown.
Let it travel down your arms.
If you get any tingles or shudders,
That's extra nice because they always feel nice.
Once it reaches the top of your head,
Imagine the top,
The top of your head,
Is in the clouds.
The top of your head is all the way up there in the sky.
And your crown is opening,
Like the top of your head is opening like a trapdoor,
Just opening up to everything that is spirit from above.
Father Spirit,
All around you.
And as your crown gets open,
More spacious,
Start to imagine that as you breathe in,
You're pulling in Father Spirit.
Light,
Source,
God,
You're pulling all of that in with your breath.
This bright,
Bright light that's all around you up there in the sky.
Breathing in all of that wisdom and knowledge,
Awareness.
From this space,
You can activate your intuition,
All of your psychic abilities,
Your connection to all that is.
On the inhale,
You can pull that in through the top of your head.
And on the exhale,
Get back down into your feet and your bum.
And push down into the earth.
So on the inhale,
You're sucking into your body.
And on the exhale,
You're pushing down into the earth so that your roots can transfer the energy into your body their way.
So you're really,
Really active with your breath here for a little bit.
See if you can do both,
Pull in and push down.
Know that your roots go both ways.
So the energy that your roots are gathering from the earth below is radiating up into your physical body.
Using your breath from your crown at the top of your head,
All of your body,
Walling all of that light,
All of that spiritual content,
Pulling it down into your being.
So you're being fed spirit and earth at the same time so that you're a balanced spiritual being.
You're connected to both worlds.
And within that,
You get stability.
You will feel like you have structure,
The magic word balance,
Balance between those two realities.
While you're here on earth in this planet of duality,
You can see both sides.
And having the ability to be connected to both sides will give you a sense of peace and happiness because you will have understanding.
And understanding takes away suffering.
Just being balanced will allow you to be a happier person.
Take some nice deep breaths,
Keep focusing on the purpose of your breath.
Start to let your body feel full of light and full of grounding energy.
Feel it in your shoulders,
Feel it in your face.
Feel it in your legs,
Focus on your feet.
Focus on the space around your legs and feel stability in your legs and the base of your spine.
And then what I'd like you to do is imagine that you're standing up on your potting soil.
You can wipe the dirt off your bum cheeks.
And you can step off the soil and just rub your feet down,
Just knock off the excess dirt.
Imagine in your mind that you're closing up your trapdoor to the crown,
Sealing everything into your body.
Ready for your day,
Feeling super alert,
Very conscious,
Aware of your body,
Feeling energized.
I'm going to take five nice big deep breaths.
And then when I've got to the fifth breath,
You can open your eyes and come back into your space.
Starting with one,
Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Take a nice big deep breath in through your nose.
Fill your lungs to capacity.
And then as you breathe out,
Really breathe out.
Let your shoulders drop,
Let your body soften on the exhale.
Once again,
A nice big deep breath.
Breathe all the way in,
Push your chest out,
Push your shoulders back.
And then on the exhale,
Breathe out,
Release everything.
On the inhale,
Breathe in once again,
Nice big deep breath.
And breathe it out when you're ready.
Two more,
Let's make the most of them.
Nice big deep breath,
Breathing all the way down to your tippy toes.
And breathe out,
Release everything.
Final breath.
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
You could open your eyes and come back into this present moment.
Namaste,
My friends.
