My name is Corrie.
Make sure that you're sat in a comfortable seated position for your meditation this morning.
Close down your eyes if you haven't done so already.
And start to just become aware of your body.
Try and sit as still as you possibly can so that finding stillness within your seated position starts to create that sense of silence,
Quietness inside.
Slow down your breath.
Make sure that you are taking long,
Slow,
Deep breaths all the way down into the base of your stomach.
Relax your face.
Relax your shoulders.
Just feel your feet first of all.
Be aware of your feet.
Come into your body and start to focus just a little bit more.
In your mind imagine that you're looking down at your feet and you have bare feet standing on a stone floor.
The stone is those big heavy stones all placed together so the ground is slightly uneven but it feels cool and rough underneath your feet.
If you squeeze your toes and you move your feet you can feel the stone,
That gritty kind of alive feeling underneath your feet.
And then if you look up your body you'll notice that you're wearing pajamas,
Comfortable pajamas.
And you're in a space that looks like a very cozy,
Small,
Quaint cottage.
The walls are stone just like the floor.
Over on the left there's a big,
Wonderful fireplace and the fire is crackling and burning away.
You can smell the fire,
The smoke,
Just a little bit.
And then over to your right there's a big,
Comfortable looking bed,
Soft plush pillows and a down quilt that looks really,
Really cozy and fluffy.
There's a rocking chair next to the fireplace and it looks like it's got a knitted shawl,
Like a big fluffy blanket,
Placed on the back of the rocking chair.
There's some really nice birds and noises coming from the outside and the window is open slightly.
And you can hear the birds singing in the morning,
The world is coming awake and alive.
There's coffee on the stove.
And this is a moment for you to have some peace and quiet.
You go over and pour yourself a coffee and put it on the table next to the rocking chair after you've had a nice sip.
And the coffee is just the perfect temperature.
And then you take the shawl from the back of the rocking chair and wrap it around your shoulders.
Even though the fire is warm in the room,
It's still just a little bit chilly from the morning coolness in the room.
You've got your comfortable,
Warm,
Fluffy socks on.
And you get all snuggled up with your legs up,
Wrapped around the inside of your shawl.
And then you grab your coffee and warm your hands on the cup and sit and stare into the fire.
As you watch the flames,
You allow your mind to just completely relax.
You're not in a place where you're thinking about anything,
But just watching the fire,
Feeling the warm cup on your hands,
The smell of your fresh coffee.
You're moving just a little bit back and forth in the rocking chair,
Which feels very comforting,
Soothing.
While you imagine this,
You can just gently rock back and forward.
Feel the stillness and the peace inside of your body.
Just listening to the sounds of the room,
Birds outside,
Fire crackling in the fireplace.
Before everything starts,
Before life starts,
Your day starts,
All of your responsibilities,
All of the things you need to get done.
This is like a pocket,
Your envelope,
Cocooned in this just calm,
Relaxed place,
Just for a short time.
The rest of the world can wait.
The rest of your day can wait.
And as you stare into the fireplace,
Any of your thoughts or feelings that might be muddled or juggled,
And you just need to have a little bit of clarity or consciousness,
A little bit more awareness.
As you stare into the fireplace,
Just allow your thoughts to fall into place.
Keep rocking slowly back and forth,
Allowing yourself to be soothed and calmed.
All is well right now,
In this moment.
Everything is peaceful and perfect.
Imagine your thoughts in your mind,
Like cards that you can place on the table in front of you.
Different things that maybe you need to sort through.
You can shuffle them around.
The most important one is at the top.
The thing that you really need to sort out or get done today can be placed high at the top of the pile.
But all the other stuff can just be sorted out through your mind.
In what's important and what's not so important.
So that you can start your day feeling relaxed and calm.
No matter what it is that you have to achieve.
Just focus on the fire.
Still taking nice,
Long,
Slow,
Deep breaths.
Sip in your coffee.
Relaxing.
You put your coffee cup down.
And you go over to where you store your clothes in this place and you pick out your clothes for the day.
What's going to be comfortable or appropriate for the things you have to do.
You still feel calm and relaxed.
Somewhere in the room you keep your phone or your calendar and you look at what exactly there is to be done today or the rest of the week.
You sit back down with your coffee and start to mentally just prepare yourself for the week.
The things that have to be done.
What you would like to achieve.
Just have a sense of being very relaxed and comfortable.
There's no stress or pressure.
After you get dressed you go to the front door and you open the door.
And just go outside.
You still have your coffee.
You assess what the day looks like,
What it feels like on your body.
Take a nice big,
Deep breath.
Breathe in the fresh air.
See in your mind's eye what your garden looks like.
What the space looks like.
And then you walk back inside.
Start to prepare yourself some food to take with you.
Once again you still feel very comfortable and calm.
The morning is easy and quiet.
You pack up your food.
Put it in your bag.
Just do a final check around your space and get your car keys.
And then you go to the door to leave for your day.
And as you lock the door,
Take another big,
Deep breath and feel very good.
Calm.
Like you can handle the day.
You can handle the week.
Just having a relaxing moment of quiet to yourself,
Watching the fire,
Having your coffee,
Was all you needed to just put you in a good energy,
A good place.
A moment for yourself so that you can go out into the world and do what you need to do.
Until you can come back and do it all over again tomorrow morning.
I'm going to count to three and you can open your eyes and come back into the space ready for your day.
One,
Two,
Three.
Opening your eyes,
Coming back into your reality.
Feeling very comfortable and calm and relaxed.
Just a little bit of you time was all it needed to make sure that you have a wonderful rest of your day.
Namaste,
My friends.
