Take any position that feels the most comfortable and appropriate for you and begin to bring your awareness into the present moment.
A sense of relaxing into the now.
This doesn't require strenuous effort.
You are not forcing your attention into the now.
Instead,
Recognise that it's only ever the present moment.
Your experience is always now.
Be aware of the totality of your experience.
The completeness of your experience in the present.
Include in your awareness all bodily sensations.
Include in your awareness the sensations of breathing.
Allow yourself to be fully aware of the entirety of your life experience in the present.
There is no next moment.
So there is nothing to wait for.
And there is no previous moment.
So there's no sense collecting or storing anything.
Just be a very open,
Empty lens of perception.
You can be aware of thoughts and mind activity without being too involved.
So there's no need to be frustrated if your mind is busy,
Noisy.
A sense of including this.
Even a chattering mind.
Well,
If that's present,
Then that's present.
No sense resisting.
No sense trying to force the mind to be quiet.
Just leave it alone.
Be aware of it,
But don't get involved in it.
Allow yourself to become much more accepting of what is.
See if it's possible to just gently lessen the resistance to life.
So there's no struggling against life.
There's no wrestling with reality.
There is just a simple,
Gradual,
Yet total acceptance of this present moment now.
See if you can simply be okay with whatever the present moment contains.
Does anything really need to change?
We might say we would prefer it if things were different.
But do things need to be different?
What if we could let go of that tendency?
And the energy that we usually spend resisting or pushing against the present moment,
Spend instead on trying to reach this place of just saying yes to all experience.
Just a simple,
Unreasonable yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
And this.
And this.
And this.
And whatever arises within your awareness in the present moment,
Simply,
Immediately,
Welcome it.
Include it.
Whether it's a thought in the mind,
A sensation in the body,
Or something received by the senses.
Simply welcome it like an old friend.
All experience can be here for as long as it wishes.
And we know everything arises,
Stays a while,
And then departs.
So simply allow all things to come and go.
Be like empty space.
The empty space in a room does not resist or object to the things that move through it.
And you can be like this space.
Allowing the body,
The mind,
And the world to pass through.
No need to push anything away.
No need to cling on to anything.
No need to fight or wrestle.
There's no need to struggle against life.
All life experience is simply an unfolding,
Temporary phenomena.
Just leave it alone,
And the letting go is done for you.
Empty,
Empty,
Empty.
Witness all things unfolding.
All things temporary.
And simply be okay with whatever is present.
There may be many things on your mind that you do wish to change in your life and about your life.
And this is okay.
This can be accepted.
Understanding that some things do need to change.
And they will change in their due course.
Everything in its own time,
In its own rhythm.
Sometimes what we accept is that some action needs to be taken.
There is simply no need to worry or stress about this.
Everything that needs to be done,
You will do.
From a place of patient,
Conscious,
Grounded awareness.
So true acceptance does not mean to be passive.
It just means to be wise.
Recognizing also,
All of these situations in the mind are only in the mind.
In this present moment,
Those situations are not here.
So just accepting this present moment.
And allowing all things to take care of themselves for this time.
By practicing this patiently,
Day by day.
Things will change,
Naturally.
Without forcing or striving.
A sense of cooperating with life.
Cooperating with the universe.
Cooperating with reality.
No longer swimming against the current.
Begin to flow with it.
In a moment,
We will be leaving the formal aspect of this meditation.
But even when re-engaging with daily activities,
Behaviors and conversations.
See if you can introduce just a little of this acceptance.
And you will see the difference in your experience.
Thank you for doing this meditation with me today.
Take care,
Be well and stay present.
