Today's meditation is an opportunity to get what is sitting just beneath the surface of your mind.
To get it out of your body and bring it into your reality.
Because it's time.
It's time to unleash your favorite self.
Welcome to Coached by Nikki Dyer.
So let's begin by gently closing your eyes,
And taking a big deep breath in,
And exhale,
And continue to rest here,
Just as you are,
Listening to the way the music dances softly in the background,
And feeling the way your breath finds a gentle rhythm of its own.
Sometimes we like ourselves best when we feel confident,
Outgoing,
And fun.
The version of us who is living their very best life.
But that self may not always be connected to reality.
Especially if this version of us requires substances,
Alcohol,
Or putting on an act,
Trying to be a certain way for others.
Our false self is the one we build up over time,
To avoid and cope,
Instead of learning to embrace and love who we are,
And to see their dreams and goals as possibilities within our reach.
Once we learn how to call our favorite self forward,
Even when it's a hard day or week,
We become unstoppable.
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
I want you to dream a little here,
And to bring a main character version of you to your mind.
One who you see living the kind of life you typically reserve for only your dreams.
And just start to notice a few things about them,
What they look like,
How does it feel to be in or around their energy,
What do they like to do,
How are their habits and rituals different from the ones you currently have.
Growth can feel uncomfortable,
But it's only because it's unfamiliar.
You don't know this next phase,
Or the new version of who you are becoming next.
They are a stranger to you,
And in ways they are supposed to be.
It can be equal parts scary and thrilling,
And you must be willing to let go of your old self,
Of the old behaviors and patterns that are no longer serving you,
And you know exactly which ones they are.
If you want a different life,
Then you have to start doing things differently.
If you want something you've never had,
You have to do something you've never done.
It's okay to do things scared.
It all starts with change,
And it all starts with you.
Take a final deep breath in,
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes as you exhale.
It's time to unleash your favorite self.
