Get yourself settled into your space.
Making yourself as comfortable as you can be.
And taking a nice long slow deep breath in.
And exhaling in your own time.
And taking a few more slow and deeper breaths than usual.
And for the next short while we're going to practice what it means to surrender.
To allow the body to completely rest,
Soften and release.
Release control.
Release the holding.
So start by allowing your body to be supported,
Fully supported by the chair,
By the bed or the floor beneath you.
There's nothing you need to sort out right now.
Know where you need to be.
Just feel your body arriving into this present moment.
And just bring your awareness now to the points of contact.
Notice where your back meets the surface below you or behind you.
Notice the weight of your legs.
Your upper legs and your lower legs.
Notice the point of contact of your feet.
In this moment you are safe and fully supported.
So just allow that surface beneath you to hold you just that little bit more.
Just allow your body to be fully supported.
See if you can soften any points that might be holding.
Consciously relax your shoulders a little bit more.
Allow the bed or the chair to take a little bit more of the weight.
Inhaling,
Softening,
Exhaling.
Relaxing,
Releasing,
Softening just that little bit more.
You don't have to hold it.
You have permission to let go.
So bring your attention to the top of your head.
And right through your forehead,
Your face and your jaw.
Notice any holding in those areas.
Make sure there's no effort.
And as much as possible call in that full relaxation.
You don't have to have a face on.
There's nobody watching.
And now go down into your neck and shoulders.
Notice any areas of holding or tension.
Bring more softness to those areas.
Continue down into your chest.
Sometimes a hand on the heart can help.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Telling yourself you don't need to hold.
Safe.
To lay down all your worries and burdens.
Moving down into your belly.
Just noticing.
Breathing.
If possible,
Breathing and releasing any holding,
Any tension.
Just noticing your whole body.
Does your whole body need to surrender?
Surrendering is not giving up.
Surrendering is letting go of unnecessary effort.
Surrendering is trusting that everything will work out for your highest good.
Surrendering is not forcing,
Not fixing everything.
But handing it over to the universe,
To God.
To a power above or around or even within you.
But knowing that you don't have to force.
You don't have to push.
You trust and allow.
And make space for what's coming next.
Just scanning your body one more time.
Bring your attention to any area that still feels a little tight or heavy.
A part of your body that you think is carrying more than its fair share.
And just switch your attention on that area.
On your next exhale,
Imagine that tightness melting away.
Like ice melting with warm water.
We're not looking to force a release.
We're allowing it.
To melt away.
And remind yourself with these words.
No longer need to hold this.
Continuing to breathe.
Each exhale allowing the tightness to melt away.
And remember that while we might be doing an action.
Surrender isn't an action.
It's more like permission.
Allowing.
Letting.
But taking another nice long deep breath in.
And exhaling.
Reminding yourself gently.
I don't need to hold on.
My body knows.
How to release.
How to let go.
How to surrender.
And as you return to your day.
Remember.
You don't have to push to make everything happen.
Sometimes the most powerful shifts.
Happen when you fully allow them.
When you allow your body.
To rest.
And surrender.
To what is.
So have a beautiful inner day.
