Your Thoughts Are Not the Problem
This is not a guided meditation, but a reflection on one of the mindfulness visualizations I return to most often. I often imagine my thoughts like clouds moving across the sky and focus on the small spaces between them. The more awareness I bring to those moments of openness, the more space I feel around my reactions, emotions, and thought patterns. In this short reflection, I talk about how this simple visualization has helped me slow down, observe my thoughts with more awareness, and feel a little less consumed by them. If your mind has been feeling especially busy lately, I hope this resonates with you.

So I recently created a meditation about the space between the thoughts and that's one of my favorite meditations and one of my go-to's that I do almost every day for myself.
And all it is is honestly I visualize clouds like my thoughts.
This is nothing new.
I did not make this up.
I've used this a lot with my students.
So I let the clouds go by like my thoughts and then I just look for that tiny bit of space in between the clouds.
And as I'm talking about this I see a cloud through my sunroof and light coming through.
And what I see is when I'm visualizing it for myself the clouds are coming by as they do and then when I have that little space that little blue sky between the cloud I try to pull it into myself and breathe it in.
And the more that I do that the more I get okay with creating space around my thoughts.
And when I do that I can notice when thoughts come up very quickly like that's a jealous thought,
That's an anger thought,
That's a frustration.
And it's not like you're not going to have them.
You'll just have a moment to respond and a tiny bit of space around it.
So if you want jump into that one meditation of mine it's a space between thoughts and try doing it throughout your day too.
And you can use the sky as a reference.
You can look out when it's cloudy.
Oh look at all those clouds.
That's like my thought pattern today.
And just have that little bit of awareness and when you can try to create some space between it especially when you're feeling those thoughts that feel a little bit more negative.
I hope this helps.
These are just small tidbits and I hope the meditation lines up with you as well.
