Thank you for joining me today.
On today's journey,
We're going to sink into relaxation and safety away from the storm that may be raging outside and down deep to the bottom of the calm and peaceful ocean floor.
I don't recommend this meditation if you have a fear of the ocean.
I'd like you to imagine now that you are resting on the surface of the ocean.
And as you do this,
Getting yourself into a comfortable position,
One in which you feel fully supported and closing your eyes as you feel the warm sun kissing your eyelids.
Now this is a magical journey so you don't need to float on a raft or a floaty.
You're just able to be at the surface of the ocean and be buoyant.
As you lay here supported by the water,
Notice what's going on around you.
Can you hear the lapping of waves?
Are there birds crying?
Are there boats or other people around?
Maybe there's a storm in the distance.
This might initially feel like a relaxing place to be if you like the water,
To be floating on the top of the water.
But I'd like you to notice how much stimulus there is.
What you can hear,
What you can see,
What you can feel and smell and maybe even taste.
Your senses are fully awake,
Fully alert here at the top of the water.
This is the place where we live in our daily life.
Being bombarded by the things that are around us,
The things that we can sense.
But if we allow ourselves to slip just below the surface of the water,
We begin to allow some of that sensory information to go away.
So again,
Because this is a magic journey,
You are able to breathe and just exist under the water.
As if you can breathe through your skin like a fish.
No need to think about it.
Just continue deep inhales and deep exhales as you slip just under the water.
Notice what you see,
Hear,
Feel now.
Your skin is fully submersed.
The light filters gently through the top of the water.
You may still be able to see the movement of the waves,
The birds flying above.
You might still be able to hear them,
Hear the waves,
Hear people or boats.
But the sound is now muffled.
The bright light of the sun is now filtered.
And your body is floating,
Fully surrounded and supported.
Feeling it relax as you begin to sink a little bit deeper.
The filtered sunlight is a little further away.
You can see the bubbles from your breath.
The sounds from up above are disappearing.
And as you look around you,
You can see in the distance,
The bottom of the ocean floor is not so far away.
Maybe there's fish or other sea life around you.
Maybe there's plants.
Or maybe all you see is a sandy bottom.
Whatever feels best to you.
Feeling supported,
Noticing that the deeper you sink,
The less sensory information there is available to you.
The more relaxed,
The more focused,
The more aware you can become of what's around you and how you feel.
Sinking closer now to the bottom.
You can see where you like to land,
Where you like to stretch out in the soft sand in a safe space.
Most of the light from the sun has been filtered out,
But your eyes have adjusted.
You can still see that you're safe,
That you're surrounded by this vast ocean,
This clear presence,
This place of calm and peace.
Settling if you haven't already on the bottom of the floor of the ocean,
Allowing yourself to be supported by the water and the sand.
Feeling the sensations on your skin,
Noticing what you see around you visually.
And sitting here,
Allowing yourself to simply be.
This is a safe and sacred space.
Allowing your mind to forget about all that was left at the surface.
Any stressors,
Any to-do lists,
Any pain,
Suffering,
And struggle.
It stayed up above.
It was not invited down here to the bottom.
Allowing yourself to stay on the bottom of this ocean floor as long as you would like.
And remembering that you can always come back to this place of peace.
You can always choose to take a deep dive and eliminate the sensory input and allow yourself to be calm and peaceful.
Thank you so much for joining me on the bottom of the ocean floor.
