Today I want to invite you to explore what happens when we loosen that grip,
That need to control,
And begin listening for the quieter current that is already guiding us.

I'd like for us to do a short practice in releasing control and allowing this natural flow.
So if it feels comfortable for you,
Take a moment to settle your body.
Take a slow breath in.
And a deep exhale out.
Just breathing gently into this present moment.
Letting every exhale soften your body.
Your shoulders.
Your face.
Now bring to mind one place in your life.
Where you may be holding on really tightly.
Perhaps you're trying to control a specific outcome.
Or manage how others see you by being helpful.
Or having it all together.
Perhaps you're pushing yourself.
To move at a pace that your body isn't ready for yet.
Notice this place without judgment.
Where does this tightness live in your body?
This pressure.
And on your next exhale,
Imagine this area.
Softening.
Just a little.
Like unclenching a tight fist.
Take another deep breath.
Silently saying to yourself,
I allow life to move through me.
Again,
Breathing slowly.
I allow life to move through me.
Now imagine your breath moving through your body.
Like a gentle current of water.
Flowing from the crown of your head.
Down your spine.
Through your legs.
And into the earth beneath you.
You don't need to force the current.
You only need to allow it.
And quietly ask yourself,
Where in my life could I soften just a little this week?
Where might flow serve me more than control?
You don't need a big answer.
Just one small place to trust life and yourself.
A little more.
Take one more final deep breath in.
And a long,
Steady breath out.
Sensitive soul,
May you soften where life asks you to surrender control.
And may you allow the quiet current of your life to move through you as it is designed.
