Blessings,
And thank you for joining me today for this transitional meditation.
To begin,
We make our way slowly into a comfortable,
Meditative position for the coming practice.
With intention,
Search and move into your version of stillness and comfort.
Taking time to thoroughly scan the body and relax those areas you know to regularly hold tension.
Relax the head,
Face,
And neck.
Relax the shoulders,
Releasing them downward.
Sit up tall,
But keep the muscles of the back soft.
Let the hands be heavy,
And in concert,
The arms.
Let go of any tension in the hips,
Legs,
And feet.
Feel the ground take the full weight of your body,
Supporting you with ease as it does always.
Now we turn to the breath to let anything else go.
Breathing deeply through the nose into the abdomen and allowing it to slowly move up into the chest.
Out the mouth,
We audibly let it all go.
Twice more like this together.
Deep inhale and sigh it out.
Inhale and release.
With our control over the breath and how we feel in the body,
We move out of a place of stress and discomfort and into a place of presence and calm.
Release the breath to its natural rhythm,
Slow and consistent.
Spring is an incredible transitional time of year.
When the cold and darker days begin to fade away and the rains of rebirth fall upon the earth,
The light seems to shine more brightly.
Wildlife emerges once again,
Some for the first time,
And plants and flowers bloom everywhere,
Bringing back an endless array of color to the world.
It's with this time of year that everything enters a state of renewal.
This can directly speak to our mentality.
Especially in tough times,
A tangible experience of a new start can be tremendously helpful.
Nothing in nature is ever really final,
For it begins anew every season,
Recycling last year's debris into rich compost in which to grow something else.
Just as we shed aspects of ourselves in feelings we hold onto that do not serve us,
Emerging on the other side renewed and lighter.
If you wish,
Imagine yourself as a flower emerging from a bulb after a new spring rain,
Reaching and growing toward the strengthening daylight,
Entering this transitional period with fresh energy and clear direction.
What meaning can you discover for your personal circumstances from this image?
What would a transition represent for you?
We are going to meditate on this for the next little while,
So take as much time as you need to consider these questions.
Trust that you are capable of maintaining this presence for the next little while,
And know that I will be here to guide you back when it is time to move on.
Thank you.
Slowly,
Begin to release the practice of the last little while.
Allow the body to move in any way it so chooses,
And finally,
When you are ready,
Gently open the eyes,
Allowing the light of the world to flow back in.
As the sun rises every morning,
So do we.
Sometimes its light is hidden,
And other times it shines ever brightly.
Much like our days vary in our perception of good or bad,
Yet we continue to rise so we can find brighter and brighter days.
This day and everyone that comes after it is yours.
Until next time,
And with love,
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.
Namaste.
