This guided meditation is a 5-minute SOS or emergency meditation. This meditation is for a time when you feel overwhelmed, for when everything just feels like too much and you need a moment to forget it all and just relax. It can also be used as a reminder of the tools you have readily available to you in difficult times. You hold more power than you may believe and you are stronger than you sometimes feel.

First,

Let us take a moment to set our intention to slow down and relax.

To focus inward on ourselves.

To shed the burdens weighing us down at this time,

Even if for just a few minutes.

They will still be there after,

But right now you need to give yourself permission to be weightless.

To attach your focus instead to the breath.

The breath holds power.

Power in all its aspects that we perceive.

In the sound,

Its direction,

Its speed.

The movement it creates within us.

Even the idea of it.

As you inhale slowly,

Hear the sound of the breath moving in through the nose and down into the lungs.

Notice the movement that arises in the body.

Expanding and lifting.

Slow the breath down even more.

Focus on the sound,

The speed,

And the motion.

Quickly but intently scan the body.

Where do you feel tension?

Take note of these areas.

Use the outward motion of the breath,

The exhale,

To remove that tension from the body.

Feel it wash away and be replaced by a warmth instead.

A relaxing warmth in place of that which we do not need.

Keep your focus and continue to relax.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Repeat.

Exhale.

Repeat.

This is but a moment in time.

A moment in time we take to care for ourselves.

And much like this will pass,

So will the times in which we feel overwhelmed.

You are stronger than you think,

Much stronger.

You have the ability to weather any storm.

And in those times when it feels like too much,

Know that you have the love of others supporting you.

This space is always here for you when you need it.

Much love.

Namaste.

Very relaxing! I usually live in a place of excitement. Iโ€™m beginning to appreciate relaxation with the more occasional burst of excitement. Ahhhh!

Out of the hundreds of meditations and mindfulness practices I've tried and listen to for easing my mind and calm my anxiety, they help yet this is hands down the #1 go to for me now. Hearing that I'm cared about etc has been denied me for decades. As an empath that feels everything, it's a big deal to hear your words, calm voice and reassure myself I'm worth taking care of myself and value the close supportive relationships I'm blessed to have. Thank you, this pulled me out of my own spiral of negativity and placed me on the positive peaceful path.
