Slowly begin or continue to move easefully into a comfortable meditative position.
Slowly direct your focus into finding stillness of the body or take your time in getting there to release any nagging feelings or make those last minute movements.
Let's wash away whatever remains by inhaling deeply through the nose into the lower abdomen,
Allowing it to slowly move up into the chest,
Then out the mouth we audibly let it all go.
A few more times just like this,
Cleansing the present through way of the breath.
Slowly bring that breath in line with the objective of our practice.
Over time begin to lengthen your inhales and exhales through the nose,
In to a count of four and out to a count of four,
Smooth and steady,
Calm and controlled.
We continue this pattern for the next little while.

Often,
Slowing down is difficult.
Slowing down can feel like you're not doing something you should be,
And it is common to feel undeserving of it.
A constant fast pace,
Knocking down to-do lists,
Always chasing the next thing is glorified in our current time and it can be unhealthy.
You deserve to slow down.
You deserve time to look after yourself and what's going on inside.
Not only do you deserve it,
But you need it.
There's a healing that takes place in this space.
Every time you return to meditation,
You are investing your valuable time back into yourself.
This practice improves almost every aspect of your life.
So slow down and slow down often.
