Welcome friends,
And welcome to a new journey with the magic of the moon.
This 12 part series will follow the new moon in the cycle of the zodiac.
Each practice will start in the same way,
We'll take a chance to find a restful place,
A place where we can find calm and quiet in meditation.
And then from there I'll guide you through a few ideas that connect to a specific new moon and zodiac sign that you may use for guidance,
For inspiration.
It may be this practice can guide a ritual or some journal work that you are working with.
And it is my hope that these sessions will hold some interest and some inspiration for you.
The new moon is the darkest time of each lunar month.
And within each month the moon will move into the same constellation as the sun.
This lunar solar meeting is what we call a new moon.
New moons are times for beginnings,
Stillness and introspection.
A time to sit in this darkness,
To reflect within stillness.
Through the moon's journey of orbiting the Earth each lunar month,
The moon will spend a little over two days passing through each zodiac sign.
This means that each month the moon's new face coincides with a different zodiac sign.
And each sign has its own element and seasonal attributes.
We also have seasons of each zodiac sign known as our birth sign.
While the new moon is in each sign,
We may feel the energy of this sign,
Potentially more so if it is your birth sign as well.
And all new moons are a great time to make plans,
Particularly for the next six months,
After which the full moon will rise in the same sign,
Completing a cycle of our journey.
This is a starting point to consider the sign of each new moon,
And the kind of beautiful new moon magic you may wish to explore.
But before we journey with a specific sign of the zodiac,
Let's just take our time to relax and settle into a restful place.
We may feel called to lay down wrapped in blankets.
We may wish to be seated.
We may wish to have a notebook and pen nearby to write down our ideas,
Or simply to see where the journey takes us today.
It may be that you are enjoying this meditation on the specific new moon of the zodiac with which this meditation is titled.
Or it may be you're simply journeying to that new moon in your mind's eye.
As always,
With meditation and with magic,
It is your intention that matters.
So do not worry about taking this meditation at exactly the right time or in the right place.
There is always a way to journey to magic.
So when we have found our restful place upon the earth,
Perhaps we close the eyes or let the gaze be soft.
Allowing an easefulness of body and breath,
Unhurried and calm,
As we begin to let the noise and busyness of the day fall away.
As we seek to connect to the new moons of springtime,
The nights are beginning to shorten.
As the light of spring creeps in,
The seasons of Ostara and Beltane bring light and a little extra warmth.
This is a time to unravel,
To unfurl like a flower bud,
To have a good stretch and re-awaken.
It might be a time to clean your home and your heart,
Opening the windows to let in the scent of spring awakening.
This is a time to grow.
Spells,
Rituals and yoga practice around this time may explore the growth and fertility in all things in your life.
From new families and relationships,
To new projects and adventures.
As the months move through May to June,
The new moon arrives at the zodiac sign of Gemini.
Embracing Gemini at new moon is about connecting to your desires and harmonising the threads of your path.
Meditation and mindfulness can work wonders for air signs such as Gemini.
The air sign mind is prone to wander and ideas can get lost.
So meditation can help draw back our focus.
Bring mindfulness to your words,
Spoken,
Written and thought.
Communication is especially important during the new moon.
We may explore our inner dialogue.
Words are so powerful.
You may wish to write your intentions in a journal or speak your wishes aloud in a spell or ceremony.
This new moon,
Embrace the energy of Gemini by sharing your words.
As we draw to a close of our short and sweet journey,
You may take your time to rest and reflect.
Or you might be ready to stretch and move and come alive and begin writing in your journal.
Take your time,
Enjoy the new moon and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
Farewell for now,
My friends.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
